Hello all! New vaper here trying to drop the stinky habit. Just like most of you, I started off with a Blu disposable from the gas station, and tried a few different brands, and meanwhile started doing research and found this board. The whole thing was VERY confusing to me, but reading this forum and some of the YouTube videos linked, I have it all figured out. I'm still using a re-chargeable gas station disposable (Eco-cig) .. however I want to step it up and get a "real" kit to get started. I'm looking for a B&M store I can visit to pick up the bare minimum to get started; once I do that I will order more stuff online. I know the cost of getting started at a B&M will be higher than online, but I'd rather pay a premium for instant gratification rather than buying more of the refills for the Eco-cig while I wait for a kit to come in the mail. My plan is to buy ONE battery, a charger, one or two tanks and some juice to get started. Then in a week or so when I get paid again I will order another battery or two, more tanks and more juice, rinse-and-repeat a few times until I have a good supply of batteries and tanks, and order juice and more accessories on a regular basis. I'm in Rhode Island, and I don't think there are any B&M stores in RI that sell anything other than NJoy, Blu, etc. I am pretty sure there are a few shops in MA .. so tomorrow morning when I get paid I'd like to go find a shop where I can get enough stuff to get started. I'm not a heavy analog user (half a pack a day on average, more on some days, less on others) .. using the disposable Eco-Cig I've found enough to stay away from the stinkys, so I'm pretty sure once I get a "real" setup I'll be good to go. If anyone here can suggest a shop in MA please do so .. I read about one shop in Quincy and another in Saugus. If there are any that anyone knows of closer to RI I'd love to hear about them. Anywhere in MA I'd love to know about, unless anyone knows of a shop in RI that I haven't heard about! Thanks all!! Looking forward to participating on this forum as I get going!

I've been in touch via email with 2 vendors that sell locally with plans to pick up gear and juice tomorrow! I emailed both and both emailed back inside an hour. Excellent responses from both. Thanks everyone for the help so far!

Sounds good!, let us know how it went, and what you picked up

=O iv spotted the incredibly rare rhode islander, this is surely a treat, these guys are very few and far between but where they do live they actually choose to be cramped in like sardines no one quite understands why its rather amazing. haha

Hey rprata! from cranston here, just wondering if these vendors actually sell advanced stuff like rba's and what not or if these are cig-a-like shops. If they are "real" vaping shops id be totally interested in checking them out. thanks!

Aside from the Barrington store, where are the others? Very curious. My husband and I havent made it to Barrington yet!

The vendor I've been in contact with operates out of the Bald Hill flea market Fri Sat Sun. http://www.sunshinevapes.com - I am meeting him tomorrow to pick up some stuff (he is going to meet me at the mall to make a special delivery!)

Where are you located Kristen?

I am in Cranston also, not far from Phred's Drug!

Quick edit to this post:

Darin from sunshinevapes.com just emailed me back. He had asked what I was looking for and asked me to put together a list of juices from his site so he could mix them for me so we can meet tomorrow.

I told him I needed one eGo style battery, 650mAh or better, some tanks, a charger and I gave him a list of 3 juices.

He replied and said, the starter kit will be $30 and I'll throw in the juices for you to help you get started.

Now that is what I call customer service .. he just gained a new customer for as long as I vape!

Bald Hill Flea Market. Bald Hill Road right across from the Target plaza. I've never been there, but I'm intrigued to see what else he sells besides what he's bringing for me tomorrow. They have an Internet presence but I am an instant gratification type especially now since this will be my first "real" setup outside the gas station disposables / rechargeables.

Ok so here's a follow-up, in case anyone is interested in Sunshine Vapes.

I just met Darin and he hooked me up with some gear and juice to get started.

Here's what I got:

1 eGo battery
2 Clearomizers w/ 3 extra coils
3 Cartomizers
eGo USB charger
eGo carrying case
5 10ml bottles of juice (I originally ordered 3, one of which he did not have, so he picked some different ones and gave me 5 (!) total.

All for $40. To say I'm satisfied and impressed would be a huge understatement.

I'm pretty sure the battery is only a 350mAh but at this point I can't complain. I plan on adding batteries and tanks etc to my kit, but this is certainly enough to get me off the stinkies and off the gas station disposables. I've already filled the 2 tanks with 2 of the juices and tried a few vapes .. and I must say I'm loving this so far. I'm going to let the battery charge up fully before I play with my toys any more. Anyone in this area, if you are looking for a local supplier for parts, accessories and juice, you should really check out sunshinevapes.com - great guy, good prices on juice, and I must say he made a fantastic first impression. He spent a half hour showing me how all the pieces work and how to use everything, talking about the legislation going on, and general vaping talk. He put his own tip on my rig before we left to test it and make sure everything was working. I left with a 100% functioning setup. Check his website out, and check him out at the Bald Hill Flea Market Fri / Sat / Sun from 12-5! You can even order your juices online and pick them up at the flea market rather than waiting for shipping, and they will be freshly mixed!

Just took a quick look at his site and the prices are a little steep for unbranded ego's but for a beginner, to have some one walk you through set up and all, it is more than worth it. Chances are he gave you a 650 mA battery. My 350 is just a little over 2 1/4 inches long with threads (see avatar).

Your next step is a twist or a spinner probably from an on line source. Also, you did not say what kind of clero's he gave you but make sure you try at least one top and one bottom feeder. Some like one some like the other. I like top feeders but the ebb these days is toward bottom feeders.

Welcome to the clan. Never look back at the stinkies again!

Oh, and drink your water!
