Hi welcome to ecf. I would go with a couple of ego twist batts and some kanger t3s for yourself. And volcano for your bf. the kanger and twists can be ordered from mt baker vapor. They also make great juice for a great price. The kangers are super easy to fill. I use the kanger mt3 daily by far the easiest I have every filled.

Welcome Xanadu0324 !
Glad you came to ECF...like said, lots of nice frendily folks here.

You are going to be easier than your partner...because finding a menthol is easier.
Your parther is harder because there is no ejuice that is just like burning tobacco...
just is none...but most people find they hate the 'bacco' flavors after vaping them and really like some of the other flavors.

That is step one...step two:
Finding good vape gear.
An eGo kit: eGo-Tank System XXL 1000mAh Starter Kit
This kit has everything you need for real vaping. Two large batteries will last anyone all day. An ECF approved vendor. MVS is the vendor I got my ego-C kit from- Quit smoking that same day- from a 40+ yr, PAD+ 'Burro Red' man.

Lastly- If you really want to quit: get some good ejuice 18mg/ml- a couple of 30ml bottles, some good vape gear and drink plenty of water while vaping ! The PG/VG will dry you out and you want to flush those toxins away...makes is easier to quit....
and vape, vape, vape away.

Best to you(s) !

Wow what a slippery slop this vapping game is, i started out with the cig alike worked for a week took it back under the wartty. then moved on to a EGO stlye tank that lasted about a month, next different tanks that lasted about a month as well. then I moved up to RBA'S on twist and vv devices, that was about a month as well then turned to Mech Mod and now i own 3 and i just order another about a hour ago. Also should state that i started to mix my own Juice about 2 months ago and just placed another order for my supplys yesterday.

With all that said new people really should just go get a good simple ego set up to start the cig a likes to me you are just throwing money down the drain, but if it helps you get off real cigs the it is wroth the money spent. i Just see so many people on this forum that go this route just to need up wasting money. I really wish there was a way to get people to understand the money they could save by just starting out with a rig thats not a cig a like

Amen Tater.
I know that there is a little cost to get into vaping...
and that most people don't really have to go as far ($$$$) as we did, but
so many 'start' with a cig-a-like, or a BLU-NJoy or a mall kit...
then have to upgrade before they really get into the vaping/quiting aspect.

With the cost of a carton or two...you can really start out vaping- for real.
Where you go from there...that's up to the person.

(Same story here-quit with an eGo-C kit....love vapping- now a hobby ! :2cool: )

Volcano is based out of Hawaii actually. USA based. I am sorry that you are having problems with their kit. I started using a Volcano Inferno kit and am very happy with it. I have, indeed, experienced quite a time with their web site though. If you give Volcano a call, I bet they would be very willing to work with you on the problematic kit. Maybe you can send it back and get the money worth from that kit applied to the Inferno kit, which is a much better kit in my opinion than cig-alikes. I've talked with John in customer service a couple of times about some issues getting onto the web site and getting my referral points from a friend that bought a kit through them and their CS has always been extremely top-notch. Give them a chance before you give up with the money you already spent.

Is the inferno the same as the eGo kits? Or will it work with ego parts if i do decide to get an ego at some point?

The Infernon is a 510 standard thread and most parts will interchange with the eGo kits. The things that will not work interchangeably are things like the atty cones for the eGo actually screw onto the eGo batteries. The atty cones (a cosmetic cone that covers the Atty) for the Inferno pressure fit to the battery with an o-ring. Other than that one specific piece, everything else is entirely interchangeable. The Inferno kit is not a variable voltage system like some of the eGo Twists and the spinners are, so you'll want to use low-resistance Attys with it, but aside from the eGo systems with the variable voltage, you'd be needing to do the same.

Thanks! That was really helpful! I also appreciate the explanation on what/why as opposed to just telling me what to do :D

A friend of mine just walked through the door about an hour ago showing off his new eGo-Twist with the Inferno Tank attached to it. Rocks nicely. The only thing he has to worry about is that he has the low resist carto on it, so he's keeping it at around 4 volts instead of cranking it up to 4.8 volts. Standard length cartos fit into the Volcano tanks too, so he can get some of the carto's at 1.8 to 2 ohms to work without replacing the entire tank itself. Now the eGo systems are also very good systems as well. Not saying that you absolutely have to go with the Volcano system. I like the Volcano and the eGo system about equal and will probably get an eGo Twist to go along with my Volcano gear as well. Really, the only reason I haven't bothered to buy an eGo twist right now is that I will probably be picking up a Provari in another week or so, so it seems kinda a waste to do a smaller battery VV mod for me at this point.

Until I kick the habit, I don't much care for flavors. None of this cotton candy, pumpkin pie, chocolate coffee mocha chai latte stuff.
Also, I don't particularly care if it looks like a cigarette. I could care less if it's 2 inches long or 12.

I didn't have a taste for all those flavors for the first couple of years. I mostly stuck with menthol and tobaccos. Eventually I got a little more adventurous and dropped menthol and almost all tobacco flavors.
