Zactly... It's all about what you will be comfortable with. Many "noobs" can't imagine going from a little cigarette all the way to a big honkin 18650 mod, so the twist is a nice first step. But if you are cool with the idea of a vamo or mvp, you will be starting off where many of us ended up after numerous baby steps in betweenn...

I'm definitely a noob, but I'm trying to be logical, with an eye towards cost effectiveness. I know I'll want to upgrade sooner rather than later so that is why I was seeking the advice of the people here. You guys are awesome!

Ha... I think ECF people are so "awesome" because we remember how great it felt to be a "noob", finally quit smoking, get some new toys, and get into this wide wacky world of vaping lol. Helps us keep that great feeling to help out the new people... Next year when you're a smoke-free vet, just remember to visit the noob forum once in a while lol!

HOPS nailed it pretty well, many of the members who frequent the new members forum do so because they want to help other new vapors avoid the mistakes and pitfalls that can derail a new member.

And like HOPS stated, when you get some experience, pay it forward, help another new member. You seem to have a pretty good grasp on things, that is a great start in itself.

Thank you guys very much for the help and "compliments". I've done a lot of research since I have the time and need to make a good decision the first time. Now I just have to make that decision already :p

I'll definitely help anywhere I can when I have the knowledge to do so.

If you buy any of the things mentioned in this thread, you'll be fine.
The hardest part is going to be finding the right e-liquid, both in nicotine strength and in flavors that you like.

One way to make that process less expensive is to check out the following subforum...
Pay It Forward - PIF

As a PAD smoker of Marlboro Lights I would think you might do well with 18mg strength to start.
You may need higher, and you may need lower, but you gotta start somewhere.

As far as flavors, you never know what you're going to wind up liking.
:)
