Hi all

I just joined. Wanted to say hello.

I started vaping in July and pretty much within 3 days quit using analogs altogether. I was so happy because I have been a heavy smoker for 36+ years and never thought I was going to be able to quit. (yes, I tried all the NRT products and they are total garbage and obviously ineffective).

I am vaping on Joyetech eCom-C's and Itaste MVPs with Aerotanks. (also tried Nautilus tanks).

I have tried a few eliquid vendors such as Joost Vapor, Mt. Baker Vapor, VaporFi and GoodeJuice, but have only been buying Virgin Vapors lately. I thought the other vendors I tried all had a "heavy" "chemically" taste to them and I didn't care for them. Either that or they tasted harsh like tart Kool-Aid (which I do NOT enjoy). While Virgin Vapor is not a home-run, I don't taste whatever that heavy, chemical flavor is in their products.

I'm currently looking for new favorite flavors as Virgin Vapor has been inconsistent as of late. I went through a couple of bottles of Double Espresso and liked it OK, so I thought I would buy 2 bottles and stock up. Unfortunately those 2 bottles are not good - just gross! Also, Bella Amaretto, which was previously a nice clean amaretto flavor, now smells like amaretto but tastes like cinnamon bun. :( I need more consistency than that. At times, their bottle sizes vary slightly, which is not too much of a problem, but I have received a few defective bottle droppers. For $22 a bottle, I expect better.

Wondering what your experiences are with this hardware and with different eliquids used by people in this forum. Looking forward to reading your posts.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! It's not surprising that the juices taste different to you over time - you abused your poor taste buds for 36 years and they're slowly coming back to life. I also quit in July after 45 years and right now I'm going through a phase of not being able to taste much of anything. Not to mention that, yeah, some suppliers seem to be being a bit inconsistent lately from what I've read here. Drink lots of water and know that things'll change again as time passes. Good luck!

Welcome and congrats!!!! I smoked for 30 years and now have been vaping for 1.5 years.

Think the hardest part of vaping is finding ones preferred juice levels. VG/PG ratio, nic level, and flavors one enjoys. Personally find 70-80% VG to be my preference. Smooth and ample vape.

I now mix DIY juice, so everything is customized to my preference. When I purchased premixed juice, Alien Vapor was one of me fave's!!!

Keep in mind, some flavors take longer to develop than others, Espresso is a potent flavor, and is really hard to get right. Rarely will the same flavor taste the same from different vendors. While I enjoyed the price of MBV's juice, only found a few that I really enjoyed before going DIY.

If you want consistency, either stick with the same juice makers, or go DIY, then one only has a single person to beach at when it ain't right:D

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

Thanks! Yes, I think the industry still has some "normalizing" to do. Seems there are still a few growing pains with the e-juice vendors as well as the equipment. Nothing so terrible that it's worth going back to analogs though. :) (thank goodness).

I have thought about making my own flavors. I heard it's cheaper, but I was concerned that it might be hard to find good ingredients that don't have whatever that "heavy chemically taste" is, or that the flavors I might have access to might be too "Kool aid" for me. What is your experience with this?

Thanks for your reply. I really do think it's the inconsistency and not my taste buds. My other flavors all taste fine. Just the new bottles I got taste terrible. I am hoping they improve with time. Of course, the Double Espresso was my ADV and absolute favorite, so I am heartbroken. :( Luckily I decided to try the "Bed of Roses" and am very surprised but it's nice!
