Hello all, my name is Joe and I am new to vaping and have a question. I have smoked Marlboro Mellow Silver pack for years and have never felt a nicotine buzz. Now am I trying a Vuse Ciro using 1.5 juice, why do I get an immediate buzz when I take a puff ? I never had this from cigarettes and sometime I even get a slight headache. I had read the vapes deliver less nicotine than cigarettes. Any info would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forums...

1.5% is 15 mg/ml of nicotine.. that's higher than you need.. you have to drop your nicotine level to 6mg/ml or .06% and go up a little if you need.. (9mg is likely)

What are the available nicotine options with that setup? You might want to get into some gear that gives you more control of your nicotine levels...

There is only the 1.5% or 0.9mil per cartridge option for this. I guess I thought that was pretty low as the most popular ones I see are 3mg and above. I just read that 3mg is the lowest you can get unless you mix it yourself. Sorry, I am kind of confused

It's the difference between looking at milligrams per milliliter of e-juice and looking at the overall percentage of nicotine... You are vaping 15 mg..

For many that's an acceptable amount to quit smoking, I used 18mg and quit a 2 pack a day 32 year Marlboro Red habit.. I still had withdrawals in the beginning, but they were at least manageable...

Most people who smoke lights and smoke less, need less nicotine to switch...

This is what i would call outdated information, which you will encounter. Modern "salt" based nicotine delivers a faster effect and higher levels are more tolerable. This boosts small devices, becoming popular through the Juul. Conventional, free base nicotine has a strong throat hit and slower effect.

I have seen people vape much higher nicotine levels and they are fine...

I was a very heavy smoker btw like u cant smoke more litterally all the time with a cig in mouth old horlborn rolling tobacco yellow that is not any light tobacco..... i started vaping with 12mg or 1.2% nic juice and i was getting a buzz or headaches after vaping many puffs in a row soooooo since u used to smoke lighter cigarettes if i am not wrong then yeah even if some people tell u this nic is not much, since u get a buzz then its tooo much for you personally and thats actually good that u dont need high nicotine to satisfy you :)

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Apparently you need a weaker strength than 1.5% (aka 15mg). You probably need 1% (aka 10mg) or lower.

Unfortunately, since the Ciro is not a refillable device (I'm 99% sure of this), you are stuck with whatever strengths Vuse sells. And according to their website, all they make is 1.5% (aka 15mg)

    Ciro Flavor Pack 1.5%

Unless he buys something else that's refillable... Just switch setups..

Sure, but if Joe's in the USA, that's gonna be tough to do.

Element vape and others are still open, if he's in an x delivery area then he can get something... it's jumping into the pool really late, but he can at least get something

    Welcome to the Forum.

I can only use British terms of reference, but when I smoked unfitered Senior Service cigarettes the official figures gave their content as 1.9 mg nicotine per cigarette - they were seen as a very strong cigarette.

Whilst there may not be a direct comparison with vaping and smoking you are vaping quite a strong mix and I'd certainly advise either vaping your present device less or switching to some kind of refillable system - this last of course depends on the availability of devices and liquids available where you live.

IMHO given what is happening to you I wouldn't suggest using anything stronger than 10 strength liquid if you do opt for a refillable device.

So I bought a Uwell Caliburn vape and some 3mg and 0mg juice. I filled the tank 3/4 with 3mg and the rest with 0mg and it seems good. I get enough of a hit, but no nicotine rush. Thanks again all for your thoughts and making me feel welcome !
    Which caliburn did you get?

I'm so happy you found something that works for you..

    Now, for the bad news..

Vaping is going through a bad time right now with the U S government.. the only thing the government has approved so far is the Vuse... There are applications pending, things that can still be sold until the FDA makes a determination on them, but the vaping community has little hope for open systems being approved..

Because of that, most of the long-term vapers like myself have literally stocked up for life so that no matter what the government does we will continue to be able to vape in the manner we prefer and with the gear we most enjoy..

We have lifetime supplies of nicotine and make our own e-juice, we have rebuildable atomizers and make our own coils and we have mods aplenty..

If you prefer what your vaping, consider making sure your okay for a while with that, if your goal is to quit smoking and stay quit. Browse the forums and read some of the discussions and decide for yourself what you need to do, if your in the US.
