Hi and welcome! There are only two kinds of ProVari, a full-size and a mini. I'm curious about why you want one? There are those who say "Get the best right off the bat!" but what is "Best" is debatable. A ProVari may not fit your needs. What are you looking for in a vaping experience?

Yup. Here comes the deluge of ProVari users promoting their PVs and condemning us for even bringing up the notion that there are other vaporizers on the market.

But I have to agree with Ocelot. There are many other, cheaper options that will likely suit your needs.

What is your vaping style? Do you like attys, cartos, clearos? Do you want to get into rebuildables? Do you want/need variable voltage? Are you a heavy vaper who needs all-day battery power with out battery changes? I have a Provari Mini and it works great but I find that because I like 1.5 ohm atomizers, I don't need VV that often except when I use my Genesis set-up. I'm good with a 3.7V Provape or my Great Lakes Vapor GLV super mini when I use a 1.5 ohm atty.

Sorry for all the questions, but you should answer those kinds of things before investing in something you may not need at first.

The two concepts are not mutually exclusive. I have a ProVari, but it's not the right fit for everyone, or may not be right at the time. I try to find out what people are looking for in a vape. If they don't understand how delivery systems work or the benefits of VV/VW, they could end up spending more money than necessary and still not be happy.

ProVape makes a few different models. The most versatile is the ProVari V2, that is the one almost everyone refers to when they talk about the ProVari and is variable voltage. It comes in a Mini which uses the smaller battery, and you can buy an extension cap to use a larger one. The regular uses the battery of the mini plus cap, and you can buy an extension cap to use the 18650 which is my preference, because I hate changing batteries out often.

You will need a battery charger and a battery. There are better places to get these, but if you just want to pay for shipping once you can buy them initially from ProVape and have it all in one package. You can then see what it is you need, and shop for a better price if you want to. You will need a minimum of 2 batteries, that way when one dies you will always have one charged and ready. In fact, when you order your PV, the options will come up to buy what you need making it pretty easy.

These PV's are 510 threaded, meaning you can screw any 510 threaded thing on them. If your e-tech is 510 threaded, the clearo you were using on it will be usable on the ProVari as well. There are so many choices! I do NOT like clearos, so from me you will get the advice to go with a carto tank. Basically, this takes a cartomizer that has a hole punched in it and puts it in a tank so it stays wet and you never get a dry burnt hit. Plus the carto will last much longer. IBTanked.com has some inexpensive ones, and OCD is the member here who makes them. There are many others as well, and I am sure people will be here shortly to give you their opinions.

Please don't let people bashing on your choice to get a Provari get to you (most likely because they think you are too new to deserve one and think that you should have to buy a bunch of disposables first). It is a great choice and a dependable, american made well warrantied device. Had I been like you and got one earlier in my vaping experience, I would have saved literally HUNDREDS of dollars on other devices.

A Provari and similar models at that level would definitely fit his needs but might not fit his wallet. If you want more consistency, probably better battery life, more variety in end-caps and warmer vapor, then I would agree that a variable model, preferrably variable wattage, would be a good option. I would suggest a model with at least a 3.5 amp switch regulator, however for maximum flexibility. From the discussions and reviews I have seen, the VAMO could be a good option in a less expensive category if money is a factor.

Here is a good review on the VAMO:

When I go out shopping, I take my 650mAh eGo - it's small and I don't care if it gets banged up or I might lose it.
When I go to dinner with my parents, I take a cig-a-like. I don't get to spend much time with them and don't feel like having a discussion with strangers about vaping if they see me with something unusual looking.
When I'm dripping I like a lightweight device I can balance in my lap.
When I'm kicking back reading the threads I use my ProVari.

Asking someone for more information about their vaping style to be able to offer better suggestions isn't saying someone doesn't "deserve" a ProVari.

A ProVari is a very nice mod, but so are others. Each product has its pros and cons. I love my ProVari, but I am also glad it wasn't the first variable voltage I bought. I don't want you to spend money on a device you will outgrow, but I also don't want you to spend so much on a device that you have little left to try different delivery systems like tanks, vivi novas, etc. I'm assuming that you want to buy a mod soon, rather than "wait awhile to have the money to buy X," (although that may work for some people). What, realistically, is your budget?

If it's just for chilling around the house...maybe something different, like an e-pipe.
