Hello,
My name is Mark and I've been a smoker for a bit over 20 years now. I recently discovered the Xhale o2 e-cigs at 7-11, and they have so far helped me go from a pack a day down to about a pack every 3 days. I bought a second one as well because the battery life is so short and I would go back to smoking normal cigs because I was charging. Also, the refills, though they sound cheap, really aren't, since it seems they last maybe the equivalent of 5 cigs worth, even though they are advertised as lasting as long as a pack. Because of this, I have some questions, and though I have read a bunch so far before registering on this site, there is so much information, I am hoping someone has some form of breakdown or spreadsheet perhaps that can answer these questions. But first, I will tell you why I have decided to try the E-cigs and why I intend to stick with them (hopefully!)...
At work I noticed another guy "smoking" in the office and I did a double take! Then I noticed there was no scent and realized that was an E-cig that I have read about. He let me try it and it was good. He said he got it at a Shell station, but everywhere I went (even where he said he got it) didn't carry it. Then someone suggested 7-11. So I got the Xhale o2 kit from there and a set of cartridges. I was impressed on my first day and only smoked 2 normal cigs then. But on the second and third days, and so on, I've noticed that although they are helping me to cut back, they aren't going to be any cheaper than the real thing, and they aren't overly strong, so I doubt I would be able to use this as a device to completely quit smoking.
Fast forward a few weeks... I wish I discovered e-cigs a year ago. I have been in much pain for about a week with pleurisy, and after a CT Scan it's discovered that I have an 18mm nodule on my left lung and a 9mm one on my right lung. Well, the one on my right lung is on the edge and scraping against my chest wall basically (not trying to get overly medical here). So I am in the process of getting a referral to a pulmonary specialist for a biopsy to find out what these things are. Since they are so small, it's unlikely it's cancer, but it's still a possibility. I've had to talk to my boss and he's agreed to remove me from the schedule for a few weeks while I recover and get whatever help I need. So, I want to keep smoking (even if it's without nicotine eventually) because I enjoy it, but obviously I can not due to the possibility of something very bad happening right now. Oh, I guess I should mention that about 12 years ago I suffered a spontaneous pneumothorax (lung collapse), but the doctors said smoking was unrelated, otherwise I would have quit then. Guess I should have! Anyway, I have several questions and am hoping that someone is a mathematical person who likes spreadsheets and whatnot to determine things like the best bang for your buck. So, here goes...
I am looking for a good E-cig with the following qualities, either as an all-in-one kit, or as a combination of parts that have all of the following. I don't know if these expectations are realistic or not for a single E-cig, and if not, perhaps someone could help me realize what is realistic...
* A duration that will last all day on a full charge, assuming an average of about 15-20 puffs an hour.
* A good quality puff like you would get on a normal full flavor smoke, not that extra-light crap.
* At least 2 batteries.
* At least 2 atomizers (in case one goes bad).
* Easily refillable. I have actually had trouble finding good information on how to refill the various e-cigs, even with all the browsing I've done here so far.
* Quality liquid (don't care about special flavors just yet) that is a good price.
* Overall, not costing anywhere near what a carton of Camels would cost! This does not include the initial purchase, just the maintenance.
I am sure there are a couple things I am missing that I should add here for a beginner, so if you have suggestions please say so. I need to do whatever I can to get off tobacco as soon as possible before whatever I have becomes very bad (if it isn't already), so any quality information you have would be appreciated. I've gone through these forums, but there's just so much information... Ahh, I said that already.
Thanks for your time, and if this is just some annoying "why don't you search the forums post" then please delete it. I am just very confused on what I should go for here.
P.S. The 900 mah review looked promising, but going to their site gives no info on how the refills are handled. If those are easily refilled, then it looks very promising.
