Hello to everyone, i have just registered and i am facing a huge dilemma that many must have faced too and this what to choose as my first e-cig. I am mostly a social smoker but love the idea of e-cigs due to the clean and cancer-free environment they provide. I am between the v2 and the e-lites. I have understood well how the e-lites work and i'm trying to get a hang of the v2. Basically, i would like to know which offers a better overall experience, as well as which is better on the long -run (moneywise too). I've been reading tons of reviews and i'm a bit skeptical about the e-tips of the e-lites since i have read nearly everywhere that they dont sum up to 40 cigarettes like they claim, but to about half as much. If it's so then traditional cigarettes cost less! I must be honest what really appeals to me is the Epro4 and if i will eventually go with e-lites, that's the one i'm getting. I love the slick casing and shape of the e-lite. On the other hand I'm trying to understand how liquids and cartridges work for the v2. I think i will get blank cartradges and fill up with e-liquids i can find in local stores every 100m (it is more convenient since for e-tips i only have two pharmacies which supply them in my city). Since i don't live in USA or UK I'm unable to have next day deliveries of e-tips but they still arrive generally fast like in 3-4 work days, i think it's mostly the hassle of delivering. Also, e-tips seem to cost much more than liquid+cartidges combinations, and also deliver less cigarettes and so v2 deliver more cigarettes for less money! Generally, i have found most people recommend the v2. Lastly, a friend has offered me for 30 euros (approx 40 usd) a 'Vivi nova' with charger and liquid is that any good? Although as i said i will probably be going with either v2 or e-lites. Thanks in advance to anyone that has read this, and to anyone that will help me using their experience and comments on each brand so as to finally get vaping!

I can't speak from personal experience, but you may not be very happy with either model you mention. A lot of folks have not had good experience with cigalikes like the ones you mention. I would recommend an eGo starter kit.

Also, don't think of vaping as how many cigarettes it equates to. For a beginner, get a middle nicotine content for you juice..like around 12 mg, and you can adjust from there.

Some folks have been able to drop the real cigarettes and start vaping right away and some folks need to sort of go part time with each. I was a part timer for a week or so. There's nothing wrong with either approach. It's also helpful that you have a local shop. Go there and take a look at different models and systems.

Bottom line: find what works for you and work it.

Hello and Welcome! I don't use any of the products you mentioned so can't help you with comparisons on them. (I use a Vamo V2.) I can tell you this. As a general rule, (there are some exceptions!) the more a product looks like a cigarette, the less it's going to perform. For example, those disposable ones claim they last up to 2 packs or a few hundred puffs.. Hmm, not so much. Also, consider the size of battery and how long you want to be able to use between charges. You can expect about 1 hour for every 100 mAh. (A 900 mAh battery should last for about 9 hours vaping.)

You are absolutely correct in that refillable cartridges are less costly than the prefilled cartos. Plus, you also get a wider variety of juice flavors and levels to choose from. If you ever get into DIY you'll find it's even more cost friendly! V2's are going to offer you more in the short term and in the long run. But there are other options as well! If you don't mind waiting for shipments there are some great products at user friendly prices.

Good luck!

Thankyou very much for the explanations. No, i really don't mind waiting for shipments i just would love the best vaping experience i can have and i could even go DIY. Do you suggest any starter kits that would work well? I really don't mind if it doesen't look lit a cigarette! An about the battery i also have no preferences, obviously one that will last though.

Personal opinion of course, but it doesn't really matter which one you get for a first PV. You will probably upgrade in a month or so anyway.
So my suggestion would be to not spend over 30 bucks for a first starter kit, and see if you even like vaping before you spend the family fortune on vape gear.

IMO this is a pretty good starter kit.

I totally understand the first instinct to get something that looks like a cigarette. I was convinced that's what I needed. I worried that anything else would just feel too odd and klunky and unfamiliar to help me. I just knew I'd hate anything not tiny and cig-like.

I was wrong. After some very unsuccessful tries with cigalikes, I went with an Ego Twist, and everything changed. Like night and day. It's about the vapor production, about the taste, about the battery. It took me all of about a day to get used to the shape/feel of the Ego, and the fact that I had to hold it in my hand as opposed to between my fingers.

While I wouldn't suggest a noob go with a big giant advanced mod right off the bat, I heartily recommend skipping the cigalikes. Get a Twist or Spinner or something - a decent mod but still relatively small.

I can tell you I started with a KGO starter kit and its still the one Im using a year and a half later! I prefer the clearomizer to the cartomizer personally. 40 bucks will get me 2 30ML 18MG different flavors that I can enjoy and I find one 30ML(20 bucks) lasts me approx 6 months and I was a pack a day smoker. That means if I was still smoking analogs I'd have spent my 6 month vaping budget in 4 days. Crazy right?

I have a Zmax, E-Power, eGo, eGo Twist and a bunch of KR808 (cigalike) PV's and I still use and like the KR808. The cigalikes are small, simple, easy to carry and the good ones vape just fine. So if you like the small form factor, get a good kit from Vapor4Life, Bloog or Smokeless Image.

For the larger type I have been eyeballing the Zeus from Vapor4Life. Grimgreen has a good review on Youtube you can check out.

Thankyou very much for sharing your experience! Yes since i am very new to this I'm wanting to go with easy to use vapes, and that's maybe why i have chosen e-lites and v2, i mean you see just how easily they screw/unscrew and use. I will certainly avoid the cigalikes and look into the models you have suggested to me! Are they simple to use? Thank you very much!

Hello, thanks for your reply! I am convinced i enjoy vaping since i have family relatives and friends from whom i have tried vaping, and so i was thinking to start off with a good PV so as to avoid buying a new one several weeks after. I prefer paying a good price for something that will last. So is the Vini Nova a good starter kit?

you want to get a setup similiar to this:
Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO

and then grab one or two of these:
    http://images.vapouriz.com/1/1348074565_16.jpg

and some e-juice in your preferred flavor. What brand do you smoke and how much do you smoke/day? I might be able to recommend a flavor for you

the kit I've recommended is very easy to use. It will take you a day or two to get it down pat for yourself but on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being very easy Id say its about a 3 or 4 if you have family or relative that vape tho prolly a 2 or 3

The Vivi Nova is a great tank. For that, I would probably use an eGo Twist or eGo Spinner unless you want something big like a Vamo or Zmax.
