Well, I'm a new vaper, and I've been vaping for a few weeks. I bought my model on the recommendation of a friend. It's a 510, and I bought it before I even knew there was a whole lifestyle attached to the activity. (I got it because it looked sassy. Yes, I'm female.) It doesn't shock me in the least, because it's how "smokers" (no offense intended by the word choice) are. The debates over juices and PVs just remind me of how we used to argue about Marlboro vs. Camels, menthols vs. regulars, and when we smoke, where we should smoke, etc. We nicotine addicts are some ritualized creatures, that's for sure!

I actually quit smoking cigarettes for an entire year while I was on the road working a show. I know, who QUITS smoking cigarettes as a roadie, right? Even during all the drinking and going to bars, I completely quit.

Then last year, I got hurt in the truck while loading into Chicago (it was a Teamster, go figure), had to have a couple of surgeries on my wrist and have been laid up with nothing to do since then. I was staying with my mother, and she smokes in her home. I was then set upon by the worst possible infliction for an ex-smoker to have. Boredom. I started smoking again. I left her house to live with friends and then was able to reduce my smoking to when I went out to drink, and no other time than that. I just started going out less. It helped.

Knowing, however, that I would need to stay with my mother during this last part of physical therapy, and I would be smoking like the city of Detroit again, I needed an alternative. Luckily, I've found one. Yeah, my model is a P.I.T.A sometimes, but I bought about 13 batteries on super sale and it'll do for now.

Any posts I should pay attention to? This site is huge. Any recommendations for juice manufacturers? It's nice to meet you.

Welcome burlap!!! I too had quit smoking for a full year (the LAST time) I could not kick the urge tho to smoke. I have been vaping for a little over 3 weeks and have NOT and have not had the urge to smoke since. I smoked at least a pack a day.

Now as far as a good juice manufacturer (goodness there are soooo many companies out there) that is a good question. Myself, I have tried several diffferent companies and have found that I like to mix my own with flavorless nic, cut it with VG glycerin and add lorann flavoring. One of the sites I DO use for premix flavors is Liberty Flights...and I just recently placed an order with Good Prophet (but haven't rec'd it yet) but they do have cheap sample bottles for you to try and see you you like the flavors. I buy my lorann flavoring from ecigexpress.

Sorry I can't be more help as far as juice companies....but IF you are looking for a good Personal Vapor the eGo is TOTALLY awesome!

Hi Burlapdragon.

Welcome to ECF. You can check here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-liquid-reviews/to get an idea of the best suppliers and what flavors people enjoy. Taste is subjective and changeable. Options include tobaccos, fruits, and sweets/desserts. Getting some samplers is a good way to start to find what tastes best to you.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Here's a link to one of the best posts for NuB's http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/120044-i-made-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html. Lots of good info on those videos and even though I'm not new I learned some things from them. There's also some good info here: The ECF Library.
The 510 is a good little PV and it sounds like you're committed to it since you've got so many batt's. A lot of people will recommend you buy an eGo, but don't worry about it if the 510 is giving you what you need. I used a 510 for a while and it got me off the analogs for good. One thing I noticed about it though is that if you keep vaping until the light blinks vapor production is not that great toward the end. Just swap batteries before you think you need to so vapor production doesn't drop off. If you haven't done so already you should consider getting a couple of extra atomizers or a box or two of cartomizers, you need to keep some spares around so you aren't stuck without your PV if your atty dies. My favorite hardware vendor is Litecigusa.net, good prices, great service and fast shipping.
There's a lot of juice vendors out there. Although a lot of people put down the Chinese Dekang brand, I like some of their flavors, and they're cheap. Here's about the cheapest place to get them Madvapes E-liquid. A lot of their tobacco flavors are pretty good, others flavors not so great. A lot of people are raving about Freedomsmokeusa's juices. I haven't tried them but intend to. I've ordered from VaporBomb and can tell you they have some good stuff. Their fruit flavors are really good.
It can be difficult to transition to vaping when you're living with a smoker. If you get your equipment working right, and get some juice that is strong enough to satisfy your craving you'll be more likely to succeed. Good luck and let us know how things are going.

Hi, burlap! cskent already gave you suggestions to my three favorite vendors. I've had nothing but fantastic service from all of them! I was one of those ridiculously desperate souls who ordered GreenSmokes and then I stumbled on this forum. I think I was just lucky, because within a couple of weeks I had a 510 PT and an eGo! I got a refund for the GreenSmokes and I haven't looked back!
