Hi all from sunny (surprisingly, at the moment) Essex UK.
Been vaping for a few months and have been drawing on the experience of this forum for most of that time. Thought it was time I'd better start contributing too.
I'm currently in quite a happy place now, as after trying hundreds of pounds worth of gear, I've found a set-up that works for me at the moment. Long-term running costs are important - it's one of the things that appealed to me about vaping in the first place - and so is a fairly discrete form factor and ease of use.
So, I'm currently using a variety of eGo batteries, with mostly Vision Ego Replacable clearos. I'm very fond of Boges and Dual Coil Ego Mega Cartos too, but the Visions are so easy to fill and top-up that I'm willing to forgive the slightly muted flavour with some juices. They are a bit quirky though. I've got around most of the problems that people have reported after using them for over a month. You really need to be on the ball as far as keeping the wicks wet. If it's not in my mouth, it's being held at an angle, or placed down on its side. It seems they get temperamental with too much voltage and you have to be vigillant about keeping the air channel clear too. Liquid seeping down to the battery connection will cause the hard draw that have caused complaints. I've found that over-filling will cause most of these kind of problems, but the draw also goes bad as the coil gets gunked-up.
I've recently started using the replaceables with the 2.4ohm heads. These are even better than the standard types. They last much longer without needing to be cleaned/dry-burned, and if you don't want to take 15 mins out of your day to do that even, you can just switch heads. They do seem to have a different draw too. A bit more airy. Plus I've learned to re-wick and coil them, which means that my running costs have dropped even further. I've got a few DIY juice mixes up to scratch too, so at the moment I don't actually have to purchase anything else for around three months if I don't want too. Of course I probably will.
Good times!
