Hello all! New member here. I've been lurking for a while. I've arrived at the mod stage of my vaping life, having gone through all the necessary phases, 801, eGO Twist, dual coil cartos, Vision Mini Nova tanks, CE2/3 clearomizers, etc.

Thanks to this forum, I've built a few coils for my Vision Nova tank, which have turned out wonderful. The "wick materials" thread on this forum was excellent reading material. Other threads on this forum for making coils and rebuilding the Vision tanks and clearomizers have been very helpful.

Today I just received my Terminator/Odysseus clone from Stormy's Vapor Cellar. I've read all the threads about how to set it up. Getting ready to dive in!

Oh, and my current favorite juice is Organic Root Beer Float from Virgin Vapor. Also I love their Organic Banana Colada, and the Kona Velvet Milkshake. These are 100% VG, really complex flavors, "thick", excellent juices. If anybody has tried them, and found another juice that is equal or better, I would love to hear about it. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend. Before I found Virgin Vapor, I was a big fan of Tasty Vapor, but PG bothers me a little, even though I love some of Tasty's falvors, so I'm all VG now...

While I'm at it -- a little story.

Here's how I got started vaping: A buddy of mine at work hipped me to "ecigs" last year, the little 801 cigarette style/cartos.

"You have to buy this battery, this cartomizer, this charger, etc, blah"...I was like..."Dude, I don't get it. What is all this stuff? Just order it for me and I'll pay you." So he hooked me up and I got my first taste of vaping. It was interesting, but it wasn't good enough. I was still smoking. Then I forgot about vaping for a while, until I found dual-coil cartos and I got back into it. But this only increased my nicotine intake, as I was now vaping indoors, and smoking outdoors.

Then I found this forum and started finding the really cool stuff.

When I found the Vision tanks and Clearomizers and eGO twist batteries, and the Virgin juice...it was so good...well so "good enough"...I just stopped smoking one day, like it was nothing. After 20 years of cigarettes, and countless attempts at quitting.

Back at the office, me and my co-worker kept showing the people who smoke all the vaping stuff we were figuring out. One by one...they started trying it out on their own. The word spread. And this was really amazing...no exaggeration here...within about month or two, every single person in my office that smokes cigarettes (maybe 8 or 9 people) quit smoking and started vaping.

I think that's really amazing. Really....really amazing...

Ok, post #5...a review of my stuff...

eGO-C Twist batteries -- I think they are gems. Inexpensive. Reliable. Long lasting between charges. The buttons on these things have been more reliable than anything else I've tried. eGO-C with a Clearomizer on top is excellent. Someone should sell little kits at 7-11 with an eGO Twist, a Clearomizer, and a good Juice. So much better than the 801 style devices.

USB pass throughs -- handy in a pinch. I have the adjustable voltage version, bought it at vaporkings.com (and a lot of my other stuff bought there too, very good customer service).

Clearomizers -- really very good, but so much better when you learn how to recoil them with a cotton wick and get those nasty little silica wicks and plastic thingys out of them that makes them taste bad after a couple days. I don't know why there's CE2/CE3/CE4 models or what the difference is. I just buy them at Vapor Kings, whatever version/model they sell. Vapor Kings calls them Vision Version 2 Clearomizer.

Vivi Nova Tanks -- the Mini's are difficult to fill, but that's what I had when I quit smoking, so they're pretty good. The atomizers in them are easier to rebuild than the atomizers in the Clearomizer. Stupid me -- I was throwing away the atomizers until I learned here how to rebuild them. I've found that some teflon thread tape carefully wrapped on the threads (not touching the juice) eliminates any chance of leaking. The bigger Vivia Nova tanks are much better. More juice. Easier to fill. But I've had leak issues with them, so again, teflon tape on the threads, and don't lay them on their sides too often.

ZMAX -- well, it was my first "mod" device. I would say I love it, except that the button on it has become increasingly flaky within two months of purchasing it. The menus are tolerable once you learn them. The center post has to be pried up now and then after threading down Vivi Nova tanks. Welcome to "mod" land. But the voltage is solid, and the big 18650 battery in it lasts me at least a day and a half. That said, my somewhat flaky but still operational ZMAX has prompted me to visit the provape.com web site every night, looking at those crazy expensive Provari's, hovering my finger over the buy-it-now button...haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I probably will...

That's awesome, photonclock... I'd love to say the same, but there's only one person that smoked where I work. I did convert her, though... :)

Yeah, but still...that's one less person killing themselves with cigs.

It's amazing...I have met more "ex-smokers" in the last 6 months than I've probably met in my entire life...not even talking about the people at my work. And all of them quit by vaping. This vaping thing is really phenomenal. It's personal for me. My mom died of cigarette related causes at age 46. When I hit 40 last year and still hadn't quit, I thought...man, that's it for me...I'm never going to figure out how to kick these things.

Now 41...not a chance I would ever go back. I even tried a regular smoke about a month ago (I found a pack I had stashed in some luggage)...it wasn't satisfying at all...I tossed it after one puff. It was totally foreign to me. Vaping is so much better. :p

great story my cuz got be to try his blu a long time ago didnt do much for me but i wanted to quit and got a vision twist what a difference that was the end of smoking for me i have gotten 2 of my friend in the last 2 weeks to quit as well all 15plus years of smoking each and none of us could me happier

That's awesome. It's just great that the word keeps spreading. I tell every smoker I meet about it. I'll meet someone outside some office building where I'm working (I travel for work), they're puffing away on cigs, I pull out the ZMAX/Nova, take a big hit and say, "Really? You guys are still smoking those things?" ;)
