I just ordered my first 510 nobox kit from nocig and am eagerly awaiting the package. I quit smoking in July when analog prices went up from $3 to over $5. I was doing OK on Zyban but it turned me into a damn zombie. After the drug wore off the cravings came back and as of a few weeks ago I hae been sneaking around smoking again. If my wife knows she hasn't nagged yet, but I can't live like this and I can't seem to quit.
I have been a pack a day smoker for over 20 years, and my Dad was a chainsmoker, so I have been exposed to second hand my whole life. The first analog I bummed, I just held in my hand and it calmed me down, so i think I am missing the act of smoking more than the actual nicotine.
I don't want to quit but I can't deal with tobacco anymore.
I almost fell for the "free trial" from VaporPak and some other scams. I started my research and stumbled on this site. Based on days of research here and elsewhere, I chose the Joye 510 and am really optimistic that this is what I need to stop smoking analogs.
Wish me luck!

Good Luck Keebler! There is a steep learning curve to most of the e-cig models out there (including the 510) so do not let yourself get frustrated at the begining. As long as you stick with it you will be a pro in no time. I have several different models and I still love the 510 and use it almost everyday so I think you have made a great first choice. But if it does not work out great for you there are other kits out there so do not be afraid to try different brands as well. And as most people will say too make sure you have pently of extra atomizers, batteries, and juice.

Wish I would have found these forums before I bought a Red Dragon kit (which got returned on a money back guarantee)..

I've been using a 510 for about 4 weeks, and other than one flooded Atty, no other issues.

Stock up on extra Atty's, get a USB passthru for home use, blank carts, and always make sure you have plenty of juice.

DIY Flavor Shack and Ms. T's Bakery Essentials have some unbelievable flavors for juice by the way!

Good luck in your efforts to quit the analogs, from a 1 - 2 Pack a day, 30 year smoker.

Thanx. I agonized for 2 days between the VaporKing and the 510, and finally went with the 510. Plus the nobox kit comes with 2, so I have backups to start. If it works for me, I will definitely stock up. Right now I am at about 5 analogs a day, so if I can nip this in the bud, it will be easier to get off them again. That number is slowly creeping, so i need to get off my ... and do it already

Good luck, Keebler!

As I said in another thread:

1/2 to 1 full pack Pall Mall Reds smoker for 10 years. The first day I got my 510 from cignot, I had the same experience as nazkira, those first two days (Until both my batteries died at roughly the same time), I had absolutely no inclination to light up an analog.

I've had my 510 for about a week now, with roughly 120mL of various flavored juices, and I have had probably 4 analogs in the past week.

4/week > 10/day.

I'd say that's awesome!

I just have to get a USB Passthrough, and more batteries.

Thanks, I am still waiting on my shipment from cignot. I have never even held an e-cig, so I am truly a noob. I fully plan to make this work, since I really shouldn't be smoking and need to do something. My wife will no doubt be receiving the package so I am braced for a xxxxxstorm when I have to tell her I am smoking again. I only started again because I missed the act of smoking. I'm anxious that I will be disappointed or I will catch hell because I am spending too much money we don't have on what my wife will see as a stupid hobby. (she is one of those people that can stop smoking on a whim and doesn't understand how hard it is for me) I was off nicotine, but even after three months the anxiety attacks were constant and nearly unbearable. It was all in my head, so my greatest hope is that vaping (eventually 0 mg) will satisfy the psychological need.
My biggest question right now is how long does e-juice last? is there a typical mL to analog baseline? Or # puffs to mL? (ie 20mL will last a week of typical use)
Matt

Hey Keebler,
I'm sort of in the same boat as you. Just got my 510 from cignot 2 days ago and have not touched an analog since. I was a 1.5 -2 pack a day smoker and have tried everything from the gum to patches, next was going to be chantix(sp?) but i have heard a few negative stories about the side effects so I was a little hesitant. The wife is on my ... to quit too, the only thing I can say about that is don't portray the ecig as a hobby but more like a tool to quit.
As far as how long the juice last, I was amazed that it lasted as long as it did. Seems that a full cart will often outlast the batteries, which i get about 5-6 hours from. The best part to me is the fact that I can take 2 or 3 puffs on it or I can puff for hours. Still trying to figure out the flavors but that will take some time as my taste and smell come back to normal, as someone mentioned earlier.

Good luck!!

End of day two with my first e-cig. I am still smoking analogs but I went from a pack a day to 7 analogs a day right before getting my package.
Day one- 5 analogs (I got the package at noon and had to charge up) Day 2 -3 analogs.
Tomorrow I am shooting for 1. I only have a few in my pack and this WILL be my last pack. I took two or three hits from my 510 every hour or so in between analogs and it kept me calm. My wife is still mad at me for falling off the wagon and smoking again and buying the 510 kit is a sore point since money is very tight. As a result, I left the 510 on my nightstand and snuck in to take my hourly hits. I will find out at work if 10-15 puffs every 2 hours or so (same routine as analog) will keep me sane.
Some of you mentioned a learning curve. I discovered halfway thru today that I was drawing too hard on the 510 and was not getting enough vapor and therefore not enough nic. I started drawing slower and more evenly and started getting good throat hit, nice flavor, and some nicotine. I needed a smoke when I started writing this but have had about 10 puffs and the craving is passing. For those reading this agonizing over what e-cig to get, I am very pleased with my 510 and will recommend it to my fellow smokers at work. I know there are better ones out there, but IMO, this is a damn good one to start with and will be keeping it for the forseeable future and my main vape. I don't plan to be a chain vaper, rather a recreational one to stay off the analogs.
FYI- I am still on my first battery charge and first cart after two days of periodic vaping.

If you find that you just don't seem to be getting what you need from it, don't forget to try adjusting your nic level. I know you said you would eventually like to cut the nic out all together, so don't be afraid if you need something a little stronger in the beginning like 24mg. You can always cut back over time.

The important thing right now is to make sure you are getting what you need so that you don't go back to those nasty analogs!8-o

And welcome to ECF. It's like family here as well as a SUPER support group.

Day 2 off analogs, Day three substituting at work. Smoked my last analog Monday after work, tasted like absolute poo8-o. Made my stomach hurt, too. I guess I got used to the lower nic hit (16mg) of the pvs quicker than I thought. I am following the same schedule as I was with the analogs, 10-15 hits every 2 hours or so. I am going through almost exactly a cart a day, I have switched out for a new one every afternoon. Six left, hopefully I can get more before I run out. I ordered from AlternaSmokes because of the killer closeout sale he's having, just hope it arrives in time. Does anyone know of a local supplier for nicotine fluid? Head shop or cigar store maybe?

im watching this post and learning, instead of opening a new post. I know i will have 200 questions but i will just sit down relax read and learn.thank you everyone on this forum, you are life savers.

smoke free for 29 days!!! looking for ecig purchase but confused.:confused:

I agonized for days over whether to get the vapor king or the 510. I finally decided on the 510 because it is the most common reliable starter and because I wanted to be able to refill my carts to save max money. The idea behind a cartomizer is nice, but it seemed to me like it still needed a bit of work to get it right, and you can only refill them so many times.
Steve at AlternaSmokes is the bomb, he just answered my email right away and said he would get my order out right away since I am running low.
**Beast, when you do buy, get fluid with your first order, even a sampler pack from Steve so you can pick what you like. The prices are real low. I would suggest the no box kit from nocig.com. For $45 total I got 2 batteries, 2 attys, charger and 10 prefilled carts shipped priority mail. Terri even substituted menthol for the regular carts free of charge.
