I have been reading a lot on these forums and got a lot of information before beginning my vape journey 2 weeks ago.. I kind of am a smoker 24 years(was 1 1/2 packs a day) but now I am almost 100% vape. I do have my bad days but no more than 4 cigs. I started on the blu and it wasn't that bad but wasn't enough for me. I then went to a zig zag vape pen. That was a little better but was not quite it. Now I am using a Kbox 70 watt with a super tank and vaporesso ccell .9 ohm coil. I love this thing. I found that I am more of a flavor chaser than cloud chaser. I am having problems with a lot of different juices tho. Most of the ones I get taste more like potpourri or a floral taste. This is as far as I have gotten in my two weeks with my current set up. I have tried going to my local vape shop but they talked me into a what I think is a crap tank for better taste. I now have a smok TFV4 with a triple coil. I want to give it a chance but it has to (or seems to have to) run at 70 watts and gets very hot. Any suggestions?

Hi Wade. I have the Smok TFV4 and really enjoy it...BUT, it's not a tank to start to vape on. I run my triple coil at 55 to 60 watts and yes it does get hot. It's a juice and battery hungry tank. You might have better luck going to a Kanger Subtank Mini (V2 has the better rba for building your own coils which is CHEAP and easy), or a Uwell Crown. Both of these tanks have factory coils available and you can also use the rba on each (have to purchase the Crown one separately).

Good luck in your journey.

Thank you for the replay. I was thinking the same thing about the tank. I just wished more vape shops cared about getting new folks into vaping instead of what money they can get today. I don't think I will go back to that shop ever.

There are a hundred places to shop online, and in the US shipping is usually 4 days to hand from ordering. We see it alot where shops sell what they have in stock or want to move over whats best. In the forum you'll get unbiased advice (for the most part) based on what would be decent choices for the level of vaper you are.

I've used these U.S. vendors with no issues:

THe TFV is a great tank, but it does like some wattage. It is entirely possible to get good flavor from lower wattage tanks. You might want to try something like a Kanger Subtank. It has many different coils available, suitable for a wide variety of vaping scenarios. It also has a RBA adapter so you can build your own coils. I build exclusively, and that's how you gain total control of the experience. I can build for 15 watts, or 150. It just depends on what I want it to do.

You live and learn. If I had a dollar for every vape thing I bought that didn't quite work out, I'd have a lot less than if I hadn't bought the darn thing to begin with. But everything was a learning experience.

At some point I just settled into what works for me and ignored the hype (mostly). I buy something every now and then just to experiment and have a little fun.

I agree that the subtank is a pretty good tank and gives you a bunch of options. You can buy several different kinds of stock coils or build your own, so you can dial it in.

As for liquid flavors, that does take a lot of searching...and your tastes will change as you go along. If you can find a reliable shop so you can sample different flavors, that will help. Once you settle into a palate (fruits, bakery, beverage, tobaccos), then you can start getting sample packs thru the mail.

Well I guess I may have messed up a little along the way. I really liked my kbox 70 but it died today. I would have thought for the price it would have lasted more than 11 days. Now it wont take a charge. I have been letting it charge when I go to bed and would last all day but now I plug it in the battery just flashes. I let it sit on charge for about 2 min and it got so hot thought it would burn up. I hope the vape shop takes it back since its been only 11 days old.

Well just got back from the shop and was more than happy to exchange my kbox. I also picked up my first RDA. I was shocked to see that the Tobeco Torque can short out so easy just by turning the air flow. It has protruding air intakes (I think that is what you call it)that when you turn to reduce the air flow it can hit the post (not the coil) when you go beyond half way. Will have to be careful with this thing not to short it out.
