So I am almost 40 and have spent (I am Danish, so sorry for the spelling) more than 24 years of being addicted to the hard stuff, and the only thing I need to quit now is the cigarettes (I have been smoking for 25 years) so I just my first "vaper machine" and a week later (right now) I have gone from 30 to 10 cigs a day. Next week I will down to 0 cigs.

Hi Morty,
Welcome to the forum, great to hear your journey to smoke free is well under way.
The best advice i see is to experiment with different strength juices and find your sweet spot. a lot of people start at 18mg - 12 mg strength juice and go completely smoke free.

Good luck with journey, I've been smoke free for two years thanks to vaping, u can do it too :)

Thanks for your answer. Lol a little embarrassing, but I did not know about different strengths.. I am on my way to the shop and buy a 18.. Can see that I currently is using a 6.. No wonder why I crave for nicotine all the time lol.

welcome.
and good luck on your journey quitting the stinkies!
well for nic strength, guess it's different strokes for different folks, I only use 3mg nic from the start, only been a dual user for a week since I started vaping, then went completely smoke free :D

This is true. If Morten gets headrushes and nausea it will be because 18mg is too strong. It would be worth getting a 12mg as well in case 6mg to 18mg is a jump too far.

Welcome to the forum mortenhy.
Be aware that more nic will also make your vape more harsh.

Going from 6mg to 12mg is quite an increase. You might in fact need 18mg, just be aware though it will probably knock your socks off.

Are you using a high powered device or a starter set-up? Cheers.

Edit...Jay beat me to it. haha.

Hmm- I expect this will be a bit controversial, so I'll say first off that this is just my opinion, and it might be bad advice for some, but... having gone from cigarettes to vaping a couple of times I'd actually advise people to consider starting vaping at a nicotine level that does make them light-headed and maybe even just a bit queasy, and cut down from there.

The reason I'd advise that is that smokers are naturally quite good at titrating their nicotine intake from cigarettes. Even if you're really craving a cigarette you'll tend to find it distasteful once you light it if you're just a bit OD'ed on nicotine already. Vape enough nic and, at least in my experience, you will pretty much just stop smoking of your own accord. YMMV, of course.

Just how much nicotine you need for that depends a lot on your setup. With decent equipment 1.8% is probably enough to get most people spinning, but that might be way too much for light smokers, and not quite enough for very heavy smokers. And I'm assuming an MTL tank at fairly low wattage- if you start with a setup that drinks juice 1.8% might be very high.

So, of course, use caution and common sense. The idea here is to go just a bit into too much nic territory. Go too far in that direction and you can make yourself ill. Absent some medical condition you're very unlikely to hurt yourself in any permanent way (unless you get so light-headed you walk into traffic) but you could have an unpleasant time.

I have done like you described and have ended up on 12 in strength and about 5 ml a day. I started on 18.
