I recently signed up and am looking forward to the experience here. I'm 60 years old and have been vaping for about 4 years, starting out with various cheap pens with 18 mg juice. It wasn't a good start. A co-worker sold me a box of his second hand hardware for a good price and the rest is history. I'm still using most of it:
  • An e-leaf GS Air which is still solid and reliable, and has great taste, although it is a little bit of a pain to fill without making a mess. coils still readily available. Bought another one to keep as a spare, but now have it in the rotation. Used at 15-20 Watts
  • A classic mini Nautilus which has a new life as a Nic salts unit at only 9 Watts
  • A Kanger subbox mini kit. The square OCC coils last a long time and taste great at 40 W
  • An i-sub Apex tank which was fussy and didn't have as good of a taste. Unfortunately I had stocked up on coils, and then when I lost it, had to buy a newer i-sub tank to recoup the investment in coils.
  • An original e-leaf melo, which became my favorite. I recently bought a Melo 3 which is awesome. About a week ago I dropped the original and broke the glass, so I bought another Melo3. The 0.5 ohm, 30-100 W coils are great. I use it at 50W and they last a long time.
I keep all seven units going with different flavors to use as the mood strikes and have accumulated a large stock of coils.

My question to the community: Are the newer tanks really much better? Are the mesh coils a lot of hype? The older equipment seems fine, but what am I missing? Given the current politics, maybe I should build on my current investment rather that starting over with new equipment?
