Hi, today we take a look at one of Hellvape's latest offers in terms of rebuildable tanks, it is the Dead Rabbit 3 rta Joker Edition.
I will examine in this Test each of the features that distinguish the tank. I hope that at the end of this reading you will have understood this product, and therefore decide whether to invest in it or not. As always, my opinions are free and based on my personal experience.

The compact red/black package, reports on the front; Hellvape logo, the writing "RTA DEAD RABBIT 3 J Edition" and a real image of the product inside the package. On the back there are; the features, parameters, packing list, logos & trademarks. On the remaining parts of the package we find; the numeric code (21-08) associated with this item, the product name (Dead Rabbit 3 RTA J Edition), the slogan "Evolve your vaping genius", the scratch&check, an adhesive label with the batch number and the indication of the color of this sample.

► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RTA; Exploded View and First Impressions:
Dead Rabbit V3 RTA J Edition derives directly from the original V3 RTA. Dead Rabbit 3 RTA J Edition is a vaporizer that maintains the basic characteristics of the previous "3 RTA", with some technical improvements that we will see during the review. The new and captivating graphic design is inspired by the famous Joker clown who is a character from American comics published by DC Comics. This is also a 25mm diameter TOP AFC, it is a product intended for RDL / DL use and is easily rebuildable even by less experienced vapers who do not want to go crazy with perfect backcombs and who do not want e-liquid leaks. V3 RTA J Edition can be set up in dual coil but also in single-coil if desired and is made of resistant mirror-polished stainless steel. It is supplied by Hellvape in an exclusive range of 3 different colors. The two specimens I obtained for this Test are; Shiny Gunmetal Purple and Shiny SS Blue. Naturally when you choose to use a powerful RTA like this it is important to combine it with dual battery MODs or single Mod 21700 that can push it at high power and provide the user with a good energy reserve. However, I will not push myself too high with the power, so I find that the tank marries very well with simple and easy to handle 21700 Mods.

The "Joker" graphic in the world of Hellvape is not new, in fact it had already been included in the RDA Joker Edition version that I recently reviewed. This new RTA version therefore takes up the "Joker" theme with precise and captivating decorations, you can notice it with the decorations placed on the bottom, while the "Dead Rabbit" brand on the bell has disappeared, giving way to the mocking expression of Joker.

► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RTA J Edition; Exploded View:
The Tank is completely removable for cleaning operations and consists of a Drip Tip 810 with Ag + band enriched with antibacterial silver ions. The top cap with quick opening at 1/4 turn, AFC ring with honeycomb holes, one-piece structure (bell), straight glass tube replaceable with the supplied bubble tank, Postless Deck with adjustable 510 Pin.

► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RTA J Edition; New AFC System:
Unlike the previous 3 RTA, the airflow ring has a set of 32 holes with a honeycomb design. The external airflow regulation is done via an AFC Ring equipped with two opposing rows each with 16 holes, the ring is equipped with rotation stops and appears precise and well braked during the regulation, it also allows a large air passage for deep DL aspirations but also offers a good flow restriction for RDL. In the second image below, you can see the airflow through two bulkheads that compress and channel the flow from top to bottom and then make it go back up just under the coils. The airflow goes up towards the coils and is amplified by the 4 holes and 3 slots on the postless deck, furthermore to better embrace the coils laterally we rely on the two raised bulkheads with honeycomb holes. According to Hellvape technicians, the airflow distribution around the coils is maximized and for this reason the best performance in terms of flavor is achieved.

In this image you can see the two large and convenient slots for refilling e-liquid, two o-rings guarantee the hermetic closure of the Top-Cap, on the same Top Cap there are strategic knurlings to facilitate opening/closing of the top ap at 1/4 turn.

► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RTA J Edition; Build:
After rotating the RTA and extracting the deck, you need to take; a wire cutter, and in the equipment you will find the flat screwdriver, the coil tool, the two Clapton Coil resistances in Ni80 from 0.37Ω. Now you are ready for the build operations.

After you cut the coil legs to 5mm length and insert them into the holes on the postless deck, you need to do this; tighten the screws, straighten the coils, activate the coils to remove any hot-spots, then you can prepare to insert the cotton snares that come in the package.

After you install the coils and insert the cotton snares into the slots, you need to do this; moisten the cotton with the liquid, replace the deck, open the top cap with a quarter turn, fill the tank with the liquid, replace the top cap, adjust the AFC ring according to your needs... Then you can quickly start creating dense clouds of vapor.

► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RTA J Edition; Vaping test and final conclusions:
I have always been a great admirer of the Hellvape brand, so I am not surprised that even with the J Edition re-release, the construction materials, the precision of the couplings and the finishes are all Top aspects and even improved. Furthermore, I find the product aesthetically successful both using the straight glass (3.5ml) and the 5.5ml domed glass. So all that remains for me to do is describe my vaping experience with the V3 J Edition. When it comes to rebuildable atomizers, I always want to test the original spare parts and any coils supplied first, because I believe that this can better help both the reviewer and the reader understand the construction concept that underlies a new product. I therefore immediately installed the two 0.37Ω Clapton Coils by Hellvape made of Ni80 and the cotton laces included in the package. The reported resistive value of the coils is 0.37Ω, in fact, once the build operation was completed, the indicated resistive value is 0.18Ω. I then positioned myself at 60W and began my test. Just as it happened with the original V3 RTA version, the V3 J Edition draw is direct and compact towards the lungs, the perception of the concentration of boost present in the liquid is much emphasized compared to other DL RTAs that I have used. The high yield also significantly affects the perception of the flavor which is very rich and concentrated. The amount of vapor emitted is much more than satisfactory. The aspirated flow is particularly profitable and not very dispersive even with the AFC completely open. By closing the AFC the throat hit skyrockets and the heat of the vapor increases, by lowering the power (W) and reopening the AFC things balance out again, I think this is an indication of excellent overall performance. The deep and calm suction noise is never annoying, in fact the popping of the coils is more noticeable than the suction suction. Ultimately the airflow from top to bottom is managed very well through the measures that Hellvape has dedicated to the new Air Ring and that we saw during the review. This is an excellent basic project that makes the Hellvape tank an excellent atomizer with a performance equal if not better than the previous original Dead Rabbit 3 RTA but also at the level of the best DL RTAs with AFC at the bottom. Owning a tank with AFC regulation positioned at the top completely protects against unpleasant e-liquid leaks, making life easy even for new vapers who do not have to go crazy to refine their manual skills in working with cotton. Furthermore, the postless deck makes this tank a really simple RTA on which to place one or two coils. So as far as RDL/DL rebuildable tanks go, if you want to try something that is high-performance, easy to rebuild, reliable and has an attractive and exclusive design, I absolutely recommend the J Edition.
