Help!1st SS mesh wick Vivi rebuild absolute fail!

So after hours of tinkering nothing,

I have 2.8ohm metered when the coil is out of the Vivi base as soon as I put it together drops to 0.6ohm. Now I did widen the opening of the Vivi base with a drill to allow room for the wick to fit, is this where my short is coming from?

Using #325 mesh and 34gauge kanthal twisted with wire wrapping at the ends to keep the melted rubber taste away

You more than likely scraped the oxidation from the wick where it sits in the post. It happened to me when i tried the ss in the vivi. I simply reoxidized the wick and it worked fine. I didnt like the way the ss performed. The allowable space to work with only accepts a really narrow wick. I now use 3mm cotton wick and imo taste more flavor vs silica wicks. Downside you cant dry burn cotton wick.

I Just tried this last night and i am having the same exact result. the weird thing for me is I had to use 8 wraps of 32 gauge kanthal to achieve just a 2.2 ohm coil. with all the wraps it made it difficult to make it fit. are the any other suggestions?
