New to vaping- one week and very happy.

I'm in a country where availability is fairly restricted, so haven't got much gear. What I have WAS working great...but...here's the story:

Bought a 510 starter kit: 2 batteries, 2 atties, bunnch of carts. Juice. Charger.

Loved it. Didn't mean to quit smoking, just use this where smoking isn't allowed.

But suddenly, coming off the analogs was so EASY. THe only problem I had with the 510 was the battery life- I couldn't quite get through a long day and a long night on the two batteries. (And I have a LOT of long nights following long days without charging breaks.)

Went to the shop, and they recommended a PCC- charges one battery while I use the other. (Looked it up online- pretty common case. Sort of crappy construction, sharp edges, holds one batt, couple of carts, and one assembled atty/cart. Not too great, but it works.)

For two days, I couldn't have been happier. Not smoking cigs, vaping whenever I want.

Last night, I went to a local bar, and ran into another guy vaping. It was really nice to chat with someone else on the same journey.

And then- last night, one of my batteries died before I would have expected, but I didn't sweat it- just swapped it out with the other. It seemed to charge okay, and later in the evening, I switched back. IT seemed to have been charged.

Put one battery (I only have two) on the charger last night before bed, the other in the PCC, so both would be charged and ready to go this morning.

When I get up this morning, the battery in the PCC is stone dead. The LED doesn't light. It won't charge, both chargers act like it doesn't exist. It is GONE.

So, two questions- what happened? Did the PCC kill it? Was it just flawed? Did something else happen to it? (Another thought- discussing which equipment was compatible with what, the other guy in the bar and I tried my battery on his (bigger, cooler, bottom feeding juice holding) atty. The threads fit, but my battery wasn't strong enough to run it.) As I see it- three options: Battery flaw. PCC overcharged and killed it. Or I did something dumb.

Second, much more important question- what do I do now??? I have ONE 510 battery, and no way I feel safe to charge it. And more importantly, I have a GIG tonight, which means multiple hours in a smokey bar, with no reliable ecigs...I want to cry...

What would you do?

Best,
Ande

Yeah, I feel for ya Ande. I'm also guessing that you have auto batteries. It is possible that the battery could be revived, but it doesn't sound good.

At least you've got the PCC. If I were you I'd just keep the working battery in there when your not using it. If it's fully charged it should get you through the night.

The whole e-cig thing is a learning process, another lesson learned. Have backups of everything, have backups of your backups (lol).

It could be a defective PCC. Leaving the battery in it overnight shouldn't cause a problem. They have a chip in them to keep from overcharging.

Did it work after you tried using the other guys equipment on it at the bar?

Since you have a manual battery I'd say it's dead. Hopefully you can get a replacement or something.

Anyway, good luck.

Thanks for the help, dudes.

Yeah, it worked again after I plugged it into the other guys atty. Worked for a while, went back in the PCC, came back out for later vapes. Went BACK in the PCC and spent the night.

Got up this morn, both the PCC and the battery were uncharged. (No battery life left.) But the PCC worked again when plugged in.

Battery didn't. Back to the shop to see what they say...

Best,
Justin

Did you check the end of the battery and the battery connector in the PCC to see if either has dried or wet eliquid on it? that can really mess of both charging and working.

And if you have auto 510 batteries, did you get eliquid on the threaded end? Manual 510 batteries are totally sealed metal on the threaded end. All auto batteries have and open hole there with the their drag sensor in there so you can kill or disable auto batteries with juice leaks onto the end of the battery.

Update- thanks for the help guys.

I'm really not sure what messed up my battery. It seemed like the mod could have done it, but it worked for a while after, recharged partially once and worked again. So I'm not saying it wasn't that, but I've got a hard time seeing how it took so long to show.

THe PCC could have done it, but I've double checked the voltages, amps, etc, and it should be compatible- plus, it hasn't fried the other batt. I'm going to be careful about leaving things in the PCC in the future, though.

At the shop where I bought it, they asked no questions. It was a week old, the battery was clearly gone-zo.

So they gave me a new one.

While I was there, I bought a spare battery, a spare atty, some juice, and another box of carts. Here's the plan- I have everything I need, plus one. So next time something goes kaput, as it surely will, I don't have to panic.

Thanks again for the support,
Ande
