Hey guys, I'm really sorry to have to make a post about this. I've read up on as much as I am able too (just had a baby and she's not cooperating with my research ). My fiance's birthday is at the end of the month and he's been hinting at wanting an e-cig. The reason I want some opinions is that he isn't a cig smoker. He wants an e-cig where he can play around with the smoke/vapors and I guess maybe some flavors but the tobacco/nicotine stuff isn't needed. Could you guys point me in the right direction on a good e-cig that I guess makes awesome vapors? Plus, I heard there are bad ones out there so I don't wanna end up getting something that'll hurt him. :| I'm limited on funds as well since I'm on maternity leave. If you could help me figure out what and where to get, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I don't want to preach, but if he's not a smoker I don't see a huge point to him starting vaping. That said, the risk of inhaling PG and VG isn't entirely known, there haven't been any long term stories, and it's possible that it could be very bad for you or not bad at all. Make sure he's willing to take the risk on his health if he's not replacing something more harmful (tobacco products).

That said, you can get 0 nicotine juice from a handful of places. If you're on a budget, check out ECBlend E-Liquids. I'm sure other suggestions will come in as well.

On the kit, both the KGO and E-Power are solid units that several here swear by. That said, if he's not a smoker, he may not need a battery that lasts all day and he might do just fine with a KR808.

Honestly, go ahead and disregard the suggestions I made above and just head over to Smokeless Image and get him a cheap kit and an extra pack of cartos, both at 0 nicotine. If he likes it, great, he can start looking into things based on his likes and dislikes, or stay right where he is and order new cartos straight from SI. If he doesn't like it, you're only out $50 and he's had an experience.

It's really hard to recommend something for a non-smoker...there's just no baseline that the vaporizer needs to meet to satisfy the user.

My husband vapes 0nic (has for almost a year now) He was a "sometimes" smoker-only when he had a bit too much to drink and still has the occasional cigar. Depending on how he feels about the size of the pv I would go with a Kgo from hoosierecigsupply. If you think that he wants something smaller than the Volt from Smokeless Image is a good kit.

Thanks for the quick reply! He does smoke "other" stuff socially, hookah and what not and I guess he just wants to practice his smoke rings or something.. I have no clue haha I didn't want to end up grabbing one that doesn't make vapors at all or something. I don;t know if it's a good idea anymore to get it though due to the PG/VG... hmm.

Thanks grey_sky!

The PG/VG vapor is better for you than inhaling smoke, hands down.

For practicing smoke rings, a KGO should do the job perfectly in conjunction with 1.7ohm Smoktech cartos and a flavor that he might like. See the link below. Choose a color, drip tip and package of cartos, then either head over to their eliquids section or to the ECBlend link I sent you before and get him some juice. A few 15ml bottles should last him a good long time. Just direct him to YouTube and have him search for how to fill cartos when you give it to him.

If you do end up getting juice from ECBlend, use coupon code 10020 for 20% off. And it looks like Dark City Vapor has a 5% off code - ECFDCV

If he is wanting to replicate hookah quality smoke, then he probably won't be happy with a KR8 (smokeless image). Go with the Kgo or Epower that was recommended above. Cartomizers should definitely be Low Resistance (1.7 is good).

As far as vapor production... the higher the VG content of your juice, the thicker the vapor (thus more to 'play' with). So go with a higher VG juice (more than 50% -- can even go as high as 100%). I wouldn't recommend tobacco flavors, he isn't a smoker anyhow and they don't taste like cigarettes anyhow. Honey is a common flavor in hookah, maybe honey or blueberry.
Good luck!

+1 to all the comments about not already being a committed smoker, but at any rate, I recommend Best Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - MyFreedomSmokes.com . You can grab an eGo battery and some Stardust cartomizers from them without breaking the bank. Their juice is also reasonably priced and tastes alright. I would say that you should order their stuff with a little VG in it to assist in the vapor production.
