Help a newbie - Vapour production

Hey guys :)
I was 16 when I got my first E-cigarette and I instantly fell in love with making big clouds of vapour, being a smoker at 16 was terrible so it was good that I had this substitute. But inevitably it broke as it was just a cheapy £10 vaper so I went back to smoking, two years passed and about three months ago I got a Itaste vv/vw 3, worked nicely with an aspire Dual coil bottom feeder until the battery malfunctioned and died, just recently moved up to a 1000MaH battery with a kanger aerotank V2. My problem is that the coils have somewhat died and its producing a really unsatisfying amount of vapour. Will certain coils have a better vapour production in the aerotank? Going to buy some new coils and ejuice tomorrow, Probably going to settle with some low nic/high vg juice to have a better experience. Does anyone else have any tips that will give me more vapour production?

Thanks
-George

Hi George Welcome to ECF :) sounds like changing the coils would just about do the trick, and something to keep in mind altho the higher vg juice will produce more clouds it will gum up the coil heads alot faster. hope this helps Happy Vaping!
Thanks buddy :) I usually use very high VG juice, what signs does a gummed up coil head give? I haven't really had a problem with the gurgles, yet....

In general, higher VG juice, lower ohm coils and more power make clouds. Be advised high-VG juices don't wick well, so you're likely to get some dry hits if you're using max VG and stock coils in an Aerotank unless you prime before each puff. Put the lowest ohm coil in your Aerotank your battery will fire. If you want really big clouds, you're probably going to need a more powerful mod and a dripper, or at least a sub-ohm tank. Be careful: a small battery will not fire subohm. A good one will just blink at you and do nothing if you try. A bad one will fail, sometimes catastrophically. Trust me when I say you don't want to go there. You don't say exactly what battery you have, but look it up online and see the lowest ohm rating the manufacturer recommends and do not go below it. For safety, stay above 1.8 ohms on a battery that size.

Hmm. A plain battery with an Aerotank is not what I would call 'up to much'.

The Aerotanks take dual coils, these are not great (to be honest) on a simple eGo battery.

I was sent some dual coil atomizers to review (18 months ago?) I refused to review them. It wasn't until I put them on a variable power they made sense... and then, I got the inevitable 4-5 days per coil, with the last day or two being a festival of leaking.

I know this sounds negative (maybe even patronizing about your kit) but you'll be wasting money if you keep looking for answers with these systems. You won't get gurgles with high VG juice, but you will get slow wicking and a weak vape.

Is your new battery variable power?

Its the JACVAPOUR E-series V2, Made by kanger for JAC, its variable voltage yes, I hope to get myself a better battery tomorrow too, maybe an MVP 3.0 :)

Yeah, I don't quite like the sound like the sound of sub ohm and rebuilding just yet but I'm sure once I get some experience I might tinker. Being a student doesn't help either, I'm lucky if I have one and a half bottles of juice at any give time, spare coils, well that's a joke on me as I almost never have more than one spare coil haha :D

That is something to keep in mind, these sub ohm tanks drink juice like crazy, I did a test on my Starre tank, vaping a 0.25ohm coil at 65w, I drained the 5ml tank in 50 mins, I average 20ml a day in juice..and that's not going mad or chain vaping, it was getting so expensive I have just put an order in for my diy juice, got enough to make over 6 litres haha at the fraction of the price I was paying...

Stick with what you have, is my advice. Happiness is not having the latest shinys. Happiness is good vape from what you have. If you really want it, fine. Do the research, hang out at the vapor store. Most people will let you hit their mod if you have your own drip tip. Look around a bit. Trust me when I tell you it's easy to spend a lot of cash on equipment you wind up not liking. You're probably looking at 50 or 60 quid for a minimum cloud machine, say an iStick 50 and a SubTank. And to really do it well, you'll probably want to rebuild.

Yeah, I guess Il just focus on getting myself a nice clean consistent vape and mess around when I can actually afford it, I gathered that vaping can be a rather expensive hobby haha :)

The nice people from AAEC UK had to physically stop me giving JacVapour a piece of my mind at Vapefest 2013.
MVP is good. Pretty huge, but Innokin make good mods. I have a Sigelei mini on the way from China, as one of my 20w iSticks is dying... oh, and 2 pink iSticks for some lady-friends. :)

Man, you need to ditch JacVapour. Talk about overpriced. The nice people from AAEC UK had to physically stop me giving them a piece of my mind at Vapefest 2013.

Damn, I feel cheated :') I bought it with an extra battery that cost £15, already on its way out as it wont properly thread into the charger. Think it may be headed down the path of no return, I have a ego battery that will happily house a 510 but wont screw into the charger, I fear this spare battery will do the same, any fixes for that? haha

I'm trying to think of a solution.

£15 is not too bad for a VV I guess. (You probably got it under normal price).

(I edited my post... old habits die hard... they took me for too much money 3 years ago.)

Do you have any other chargers? They can be troublesome... I must have got through a few over the years. Now I only use usb mini input batteries....

It can, yes. Especially if you are stricken with shinyitis, as I am. Heck, I just ordered a new mechanical mod yesterday-- I probably don't have more than a dozen already, and never mind I vape a TC box mod at home-- and I PM'd a guy earlier today offering to buy a used one he wanted to flog. OTOH, it is substantially cheaper than ciggies, even with shinyitis. Especially if you DIY your juice. I have my juice cost under 5 cents American per ml, just 2 or 3 pence. At that price, I can burn it up all day.

Yep, still no joy, wont thread into any of them :(

It takes a bit of practice, of course. But all you really need are 4 10ml syringes with 16 or so gauge blunt needles, some VG, PG, flavorings and nic juice if you use it. Oh, and some bottle to put it in. Let me suggest you hit the DIY juice forum.

I see, Thats probably somthing I should really do considering how much liquid costs and how little Im budgeted to
