I have a brass nemesis mod. i had a Efest 35a purple battery in it and i go to change the Rda to a tank to see what its like. The tank is the Mini Super tank By Tobeco Btw. So i screw it in fire it, doesn't fire though. so i screw it off, but right before i screw it off all the way i heard the tank crackle . Then i Feel my mod is getting hot. I run Outside FAST and take the battery out and put it on the lawn, far from me or my house. The Battery was getting hot. i thought is was going to vent to i got the extinguisher out. Nothing happened.

What do i do?
What did i do wrong?
What is the solution to what i did wrong?

I'm REALLY glad nothing disastrous happened!

What is your build/coil resistance? Efest 35A really aren't 35 CONTINUOUS Amps. MAYBE a pulse max rating. I have a few of those batteries, but I treat them as if they're MAYBE 15A at best. Even then, I only build to about 50% of that and typically run them with 1.5Ω coils.

@Mooch has some GREAT information and statistics on various batteries. I believe he's the one who's done some extensive testing on various batteries.

Also, isn't the Nemmy a hybrid mod? I think there are some types of toppers that aren't well suited to hybrid caps. I'm not familiar with the Mini Super Tank (although it looks kinda cool!)

Is the Nemmy a Hybrid? I really didn't know that. My build was like 0.75-0.80 Ohms. I don't think that's too bad?. I thougth the nemesis was a regular mech mod.

Yeah, it took me a long time to figure out what folks meant by "hybrid". As Vesuvius mentions, the topcap of the mod is just basically a plate with a screwhole in it. If there's no "adapter" (i.e. you can see right through to the battery) it's a hybrid.

Here's what Mooch had to say about that battery

In my opinion, this is a 15A+ continuous discharge current (CDR) cell with good capacity for its rating. I recommend not using it above 20A as it runs at a very high temperature at those current levels. At its 35A continuous rating the voltage instantly plummets and the cell quickly gets very, very hot. I have included a 35A pulsed discharge (its rating) but I haven't set pass/fail standards for pulse testing yet.

Here's the entire test: Efest 35A 2900mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...only a 15A+ battery

And those cap's are really direct to positive and not true hybrids. When using these types of connections it's important that the 510 pin extends out of the 510 threading at least a mm so you don't short the battery. That threaded section should not make contact with the positive post of the cell.

I checked the ohms with another mod (E-vic VT 60 Watt). I dont think the Mini Super tank is that low its about .5 ohms.

Also This is NOT a Hybrid, I can see a screw but not the battery

It's not a hybrid.
It's a good mod.
Ignore what some of these
Posters are going on about.

Take the top cap off the mod.

Back the screw out a bit.

Attach the atomizer to the top, and gently tighten the screw until it touches the atty.

Drop the battery in the tube and unscrew the button(switch) a bit.

Attach the top cap.
Screw the button(switch) in until it's snug.

Vape.
