Ok so I bought the ipv mini 2 starter kit from vapenw. It came with a Wulf+ Sub ohm tank that I can't seem to find any reviews on. Anyways I'm running 0.2 ohm coils in it and every time I hit it I get a burnt taste. I know the coil isn't burnt out because I just replaced it. I always prime the coil before I fill the tank. I take primer pulls and that doesn't help. It also makes a sizzling sound even after I let go of the fire button. Does anybody know what this could be? Btw I'm running a LG HG2 18650 Battery in it.

what watts are you running at and what type of juice? Did you clean the atty before you used it?
Are you dry burning the new coil to remove the oils from the wire ( if it has a removable wick) ?
I'm using Strawberry Overdose 80 vg 20 pg 1.5mg Nic. The coil is the one you just screw into the sub ohm tank so I don't believe the wick is removable.

Hi and Welcome! Do you ramp up the watts slowly to break in the coil, I always start really low like 10w? Are you chain vaping? 80vg is pretty thick maybe the coil is not absorbing the liquid right. Try vaping at lower watts, I vape mainly around 25w- 35w if I start going higher it tastes burnt, I back down the watts. Hopefully after priming you are letting the tank sit for at least 15 minutes before using.
If it starts tasting burnt try backing down the watts.
Some liquids taste and vape better at lower watts.
I do not have your set up or liquid, I mainly use coils in the .5Ω range.

Reviews on these IPV mods will be kind of old and very mixed. They sold a lot of half-baked products.
People either got lucky and love them or were struck by the various deficiencies in the design or QC.
I suspect your problems are down to inaccurate chip control.
It might not be this version, but some IPVs were incapable of step-down, so the mod can only fire at the native volts of the battery (or above).
If you use a 0.2ohm coil and the battery is fresh, then you could be looking at 88 watts straight off the launch pad. It should be limited to 70w, but even that is questionable.
I hope you got it cheap.
Personally, I would have loved to get one. Just go steady with it if my suspicion is correct.

Welcome and glad you joined. Tanks and sub ohm'g can be problematic. Burnt/harsh taste can occur for a number of reasons.

Kudos to @BrotherBob Reading those pieces will get you pointed in the right direction. Getting different coils ( or a new tank with different coils) in the .5ish range might work as well. A .2 coil is pretty low, and 45 watts is kinda thin for a coil of that value. It could be it's working perfectly, but the wire is getting so hot it's burning the juice you like. Some flavor profiles like a bit lower temperature on the coil wire.
