Hi all!

So, I'm super new to vaping--I started about a week ago, but I'm already sold. Haven't had an analog since my first vape and never going back! Right now I'm using a Vapage U-Turn 1300 with this disposable clearo (Titan Crystal Cartridge 2.0ohm (2-pack)) and 18mg watermelon juice from BWB, but pretty quickly it loses taste almost completely and I'm pretty sure it's the clearo...

So, I've been lurking for the last few days and I seems clear that the ProVari is the next step for me, but I'm completely clueless about the rest of it! When I read what ya'll smarties are saying you use with your ProVari, I can't understand a word of it! So... what all should I get WITH the ProVari? I know it's a subjective question, but any advice you can offer would be really appreciated!

Maggie,

Congrats on joining the vaping fam. I have been 10 week cig free and have bought sooooo much gear it is ridiculous. Haha. To answer your question: 1. The provari is great but if you want to step up your mod there may be better choices per $. 2. What type of vape are you wanting? Ie. hard hitting, loose draw, big clouds, easiness, etc? I would help recommend once I know more.

Hi Maggie and welcome to ECF.

Since you already own a variable voltage battery, I suggest you get different heads--there are better choices than your clearos. I suggest you try something from the Kanger BCC line--T3S, eVod or a mini ProTank. If you prefer top coil design, Kanger T2 or mini Vision Vivi Nova are good choices. Or try a dual coil design like Iclear 16 or Aspire (the eGo-threaded glass version).

I'm sure any one of those heads will give you a satisfactory performance.

Since you also need batteries and a charger with the ProVari, I would just go for the kit, which also comes with a ProTank. You can figure the rest out later as you learn more about the various juice delivery devices.

ETA: What I have on my ProVari - IBTanked 22mm carto tank. I don't actually use clearos like the ProTank, but it's a good beginner device.

Maggie, I am with DoubleK on this... However, for the sake of your advise request; I will suggest a glassomizer (like a Protank 1 or 2, to include the mini version), a good cartomizer tank (like an IBtanked 22mm tank, Bella Tank, Lokilab Tank or any of the Kir Fanis tanks... with good cartomizers... Ikenvape Platinums are pretty good). Ohh yeah... And get some good AW IMR type batteries. Just my 2 cents. ;-)
Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!
Congratulations on making one of the best decisions of your life!!!

Maggie,

I would highly suggest the following based upon my experience.

Carto
1. Smok carto tank-cheap way to try cartos
2. Jtank
3. Gp carto tank- love the filling system but pricy.

Glassomizer
1. Aspire bdc mini or mega. Both use same heads. Tight draw like carto but less mess
2. Any vape davide. Basically a pro tank but I like it better. I have both
3. Kanger pro tank 2. Either reg or mini.
4. Kanger evod

Clearomizer
1. Kanger t3
2. Iclear 16 or 30

I prefer less airy draw and use either rta, rba, or davide with my own nano coils. Cartos are good too but I didn't care for them as much.

You guys are amazing! Thank you so much! Like you guys advise, maybe I'll put off the provari for a while and try some of your suggested clearos. Thank you!!

Good idea. Try different heads first. If you need a more advanced battery, try an Innokin iTaste VV V3 or the MVP--great, fun, good-looking and user-friendly batteries--for under 50 bucks.

Just saying. :D

Picking the ProVari is the easy part, IMO, but finding the juice delivery system is the hard part. If you like a warmer vape, like I do, that's where it gets tricky cuz there's more bcc tanks out there than top.

ProTank2 is def a love/hate on the forum. I found it, ok. Cooler vape than I wanted so I use unflavored or Halo Prime in it and that's about it. IBtanked are awesome! Vision V Fate I feel are great too. Top coil, warm vape, easy to fill, tight draw, good flavor. And I have around 5-6 various tanks sitting dead in the water cuz either too cool of a vape, too airy or lacks flavor.

Long story short, whether you got the mod first or not, either way, you will need to buy and play w/a ton of tanks to find your fit. Then there's ohms.....

Have fun!

A great tank for a Provari, ego or any device for someone just starting out is the Aspire Vivi Nova BDC tank. Great vapor production and real good price. ~$10 or less, and simply blows the protank out of the water. A Provari is a great choice for a regulated mod. Great quality, consistent vape, great warranty. The only other regulated device i would consider is a SvoëMesto. A bit more expensive than the Provari, but some nice features. The Provari has the added benefit of being U.S. made and if one did need any service work on it, it would be easier to get done.

No mater how good of battery device you have, ultimately, the quality and quantity of the vape is going to be determined by your atomizer. Once you have a good atomizer, then the quality of the device powering it comes into play. You are not going to find a device that will give you a more consistent vape then a Provari or the SvoëMesto. Both will take you a long way into vape. If you ever decide to go into a mechanical, then everything you learned on a regulated will do you well. If the P is within you means, then get one, you won't be disappointed. The one thing I would recommend is if you do get a regulated device, make sure it goes up to 6 volts and 15 watts. You won't need it to begin with, but if you get into rba's or rda's having the extra watt output will come in handy.

Do all the research, comparison and reviews. When you find what make sense and something you like of a quality build, then get it. Can't say what is best for you, that's your decision. And yes, I own a Provari, I also own a Nemesis clone. I've also spent more money on rba's then I have on my mods. So cost isn't really relative, what is most important is that I really enjoy a great vape and haven't had a smoke for more than 6 months, since I started to vape.

Provari +:

Clearomizers:
1. Protank II
2. iClear30S
3. Lots of resistance replacement heads
4. Qtips and pipe cleaners

Cartomizers:
1. Boge, Ikenvape or Smoktech
2. Use a carto tank: IBtanked, Phiniac, GP Snp are my favorites. BTW, you can spend a lot less than these (and get a lot less than these)
3. Get a carto tool. The Slap Yo Mama from Big Daddy Vapors is popular: Stainless Steel Slap Yo' Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter [SYMSS] - $12.99 : Big Daddy Vapor

RDA
1. Igo-L and Igo-W are nice drippers for entry level
2. HH357 from Avid Vapors are great for juice testing
3. I like the Origen and Trident as my favorite RDA's

RBA
1. Genny: RSST is great entry level and well priced now, there are about 100 of these, and they can be tricky
2. Chimney: The Kayfun and Taifun are top of the line devices and very nice
3. Ithaka: One of the more difficult RBA's with resistance and non-resistance wire and multiple and sometimes complex builds

Materials:
1. Kanthal wire in gauges 28, 30 and 32 to start
2. Silica and Cotton in 1mm, 2mm and 3mm to start
3. 400 and 500 mesh to start for Genny's
4. magnification, lighting
5. pliers, tweezers, cutters, etc.

Recommend clearos and cartos for new vapers. But, I wanted to give you a small sampling of the gear and the direction you can go in and some of the options. After a year of aggressive vaping gear acquisition and evolution in skills and knowledge, I feel more advanced but hardly any closer to any real level of expertise on anything. You have made an excellent choice on the Provari, and you can build very well with that device from there. Good luck in your VapeQuest and enjoy! Welcome to the Forum, power up and vape on!

First of all Maggiebb...has anyone told you yet that you're very smart! You went to the top of the line Provari to start. Of all my ecigs, and I've got a lot...the Provari Mini remains my favorite. It's small, powerful, and dependable. In fact, after buying everything on the market, I finally got my first Provari mini about 2 years ago, a silver one. Then a few months later decided I needed another for 'back-up'. haha

Well, I walked into my local ecig shop about a month ago and saw the cashier's set-up. It was a little black Provari Mini with the small Big Daddy (or was it the Little Mama) tank with black end-caps on it. Beautiful! So yesterday I went back just to get another Clearomizer and walked out with my very own black Provari Mini. Looks exactly like the cashier's set-up now. And I'm sooo happy!

So, enjoy your Provari and all the different carto and clearo tanks you put on it! You got the best! :)
