Okay, I just got done rebuilding the coil on a Lemo 2 for tootling. It is my first ever attempt to build a coil.

The target was 1.5 ohms.

Used 30 g Kanthal 5 wraps around a what I'm estimating is a penny nail.

I forgot to dig up something in the 2.5mm range to wrap it, so guestimated.

Done in less than 20 minutes.

Fired it up on my eleaf istick, it showed it at 1.8 ohms, jumped to 2.0 after the first couple of puffs - and it worked like a champ despite being a little higher ohm than I intended.

Its been hitting at 1.9 and I'm happy with it.

EXCEPT I forgot to clip the excess wire from the posts. I just realized that and am wondering if I have to empty it (ie: take it apart agains) to clip the excess or if it's okay to leave it.

Seen as no one has responded i will try:)
Okay, i did a search and had a quick look at your gear ie istick and lemo2, your istick is a regulated mod so if there was a problem with your leads i would have thought you would either not be able to fire up the lemo2 or you would get an error message of some sort on your istick, which would mean your leads are touching the inside of the chimney on the lemo2.
I recommend always cutting the leads tight to the post hole or screw that you secure it to, although leaving a slight tail wont effect your ohms.
The ohms you gave us for your coil look pretty much spot on.

You can use steam engine to check your builds, ohms and much more -->http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?id=2.5

Thanks for making the effort - it is working well on the istick and provari 2.5.

It has settled on 1.7 ohm and had one dry hit off of it today, that's it.

I will probably take it down this evening and clip those ends, I just didn't have time to get into a second mess last night but wanted to use it.

Great link, btw.

And thanks again for taking the time to help a building-noob. It is much appreciated
