Hello forum members.
As I am a true newbie, and own nothing yet, so while I'm waiting for the GGTS to become available, I thought I would streamline the order process and list everything I "THINK", I may need to get started. Hoping for any feedback and suggestions from the members here. THANKS, in advance!

Here is my starter plan list of items to buy (not sure if it is accurate as I just did this by looking at the VK website, please CORRECT me if I made any mistakes on compatibility etc.). Seems all items can be purchased at Vapor Kings web site, and that is the U.S. source I am waiting for to stock the GGTS anyways. Prices for batteries and chargers seem pretty fair overall, a few bucks more for one stop shopping is worth it to me.

-------------------------------------------------------

1 - GGTS

---------------- BATTERIES AND CHARGER ----------------------

2 - UltraFire IRC123A 3.7 volt 880mAh Protected batteries (this will allow a one battery unit at shortest length, and a larger/longer two battery unit for 7.4 volt vaping with HV atties).

2 - Tenergy RCR123A 3.0 volt 900mAh Protected batteries (again using one for short length, and using two would give me a 6 volt vape using regular atties).

1 - UltraFire WF-138A 3.0/3.6 volt Switchable Dual Bay Charger

After looking at Lisa's "GG Battery Chart", this initial purchase battery system seems the most flexible for size and voltage use with the GGTS for now. Later on I can always try the larger single batteries, like the "UltraFire 18650 3.7 volt 3000 mAh", for longer lasting run times, but of course would need another separate charger.

---------- ATOMIZERS -------------------------------

Since these don't last forever, makes sense to get a few to start and as the GGTS has a multi-tip port (4 in 1 connector), I can try a few different types without buying adapters.

1 - DSE901 Atomizer, (both the black and silver model show as "HIGH BRIDGE".
NOTE: (not sure what the bridge low/high means vapor wise?)

1 - DSE801 Atomizer, (all seem to be "High Bridge")

1 - Joye 510 Atomizer, (bridge type NOT mentioned)

? - HV Atomizers (Not sure where these are sold, needed for 7.4 vaping from what I've read here) ?

----------- REFILLABLE CARTRIDGES --------------------------

FIVE SOFT PLASTIC TIPPED empty e-Cigarette cartridges for the DSE801 Classic Penstyle e-Cigarette.
FIVE FLAT TIP BLACK empty e-Cigarette cartridges for the Joye 510 e-Cigarette.
FIVE THIN WHISTLE TIPPED empty cartridges for the Mini DSE901 e-Cigarette.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

??? Not sure if "cartomizers" can be used with the GGTS, and if they are recommended if they can be? Not aware of plusses or minuses in using these, or how they fit or don't on the unit.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

*e-liquid's.
I'll simply make some choices out of the many available to test, and some places have sample sizes of different flavors.

Thanks again, for any suggestions, or corrections anyone may have. I've done a fair amount of homework, but at this point some personal advice from real owners/users is much needed. Cheers!

You need more atomizers. They have a tendency to flake out at the most inopportune times. If you're just starting out, I'd suggest getting at least a couple of each type.

And I'd also recommend ditching that UF charger and getting the Trustfire one. I have both, and prefer the TF because the UF gets very hot at times.

Hi Mac
A good tip i'v found is to use new atomizers at 3.7 and after about a week or when ever vapour tail's off use at 6volt
above is for standared atomizer's not Emeo's

2 - Tenergy RCR123A 3.0 volt 900mAh Protected batteries (again using one for short length, and using two would give me a 6 volt vape using regular atties).

above will not work on it's own, need a minimum of 3.7v to work (well for more than 5 minutes)

MHR7331: Okay, I'll get TWO of each type of atomizers, figured I'd start with the 3 main types and then decide which I like, and then buy the chosen style from then after. As far as the charger, the model I listed is DUAL voltage at 3.0 and 3.6/3.7, not sure if the TrustFire has dual modes, will look into it more.

Sadtranz: Thanks, did NOT realize 3.0 volts would be too low by itself, will rethink this, but using TWO 3.0volt bats still seems good for 6.0 vaping without having to use HV atomizers, no?

Thanks, anymore tips or advice, really appreciate it, and hopefully other newbies can learn from this thread as they jump in!

Yeah the Trustfire charges the same batts. Although I would go with the Tenergy LifePO4 CR123s instead, and they use a separate charger.

According to the VP site here:

Lithium-ion batteries and chargers

They only list one TrustFire charger model #TR-001, and it says on the site, "not compatible with 3.0 volt batteries". Are you referring to a different model TrustFire that does dual voltage 3.0/3.7? I also do not see the "LifePO4" batteries listed, just the Tenergy RCR123A 900 mAh models. I have no problem ordering some accessories from other sources, if you have a site you can recommend, I'll take a look. Thanks for all your feedback, hopefully my research time is running out and maybe in a week or so, I can start ordering goodies.

Ultrafire batteries can be charged up to approximately 500 times (CR2 and CR123). There are other companies (Tenergy is probably one) who offer chargers which charge quicker and CR2 and CR123 that can be charged up to 2000 times so are more cost effective/convenient.

I am also a new vapourer. I actually can't follow what is here. I have bought two cigs: DSE901 and DSE801 mini.the batteries are definately different. Even thoughthe chargers both say model DSE901-C. they are not the same connection at the battery input. I will probably end up buying a couple more starter kits before I find something I like. As such, any information regarding what is interchangeable would be helpful. Also. I am only able to get good vapor and good throat hits (that I like) when I have new liquid and freshly charged battery. The 801 mini that I have seams better to me than the 901 penstyle with the atomier that broke the first day.
If I get lost could someone email me at janeycamp@yahoo.com attn:5steve

That's possibly because the GG is a mod, and mods come with a learning curve. The first person who started this thread although a self-describing "newbie" had done some considerable research through the vaping forums before posting in this sub-forum.

E-cig mods such as the GG can provide better battery life and more vapour and consistency and reliability.

The starter kits you mention are limited because of the running of expensive bespoke batteries and cheaper less durable components. If you continue to buy such kit you will encounter only similar problems and quick product failure.

They are called "starter kits" for a reason. You've started.. what's the point of buying another "starter kit"?

As a result of using ONLY cheap Chinese e-cigs. I know of many have unfortunately gone back to smoking out of frustration when these units fail completely, or misfire and/or do not produce enough vapour to convince a heavy smoker they're any panacea.

5steve- you have it backwards the 801 is the penstyle and the 901 is the mini. The charger dse901-c you have only fits the 901 mini. You will need the dse801-c charger to charge your 801 battery. I hope that helps some. Also if you want to shoot Rob an email at rob@vaporkings.com he can answer your questions about what e-cigs are interchangeable.

*E-LIQUID's.

Mactavish-We will do samples of the e-liquids too with orders if you will leave in the comment when making an order what flavor and strength you want we will get you some in there. We got some new flavors in that Rob is in the process of getting added to the website.

1. You'll need some fine grade sandpaper 1000+ (DON'T USE STANDARD SANDPAPER YOU'LL DAMAGE THE UNIT).. for the switch

2. You'll want some conductive anti-seizure compound for the threads.

Maintaining the threads from go will help prevent the unit seizing. I can't stress enough the importance of this particularly if you don't have a back-up mod.

My GG seized before we knew on the forum the importance using these compounds.

Noalox brand anti-oxidant is such a compound.

PLEASE don't HIJACK this thread, your questions are TOTALLY unrelated to my list of GGST related products. I suggest READING more carefully next time before posting to any thread. Thanks, and good luck with your questions. :(

e-liquids are on my list, but as of now, I need help with BATTERIES, if you follow this thread, can you respond to what someone mentioned as NEW choices in BATS, or any Charger options. I'm hoping to keep the chargers at least to a single unit, may not be possible though. Thanks.

thanks vaughanie, seems I have MORE battery/charger homework to do. Just looking for the most flexibility and trying NOT to buy more then a single charger for now. Like most I have far too many batteries and chargers for all the other electronic crap we have collected. Odd how difficult finding any one place that has good info on Li-ion bat chargers. Doing a google on the two brands we discussed shows chinese web sites, that don't even have all the models available. My next step is too simply look at more e-cig sales sites for more choices on chargers that may be multi volt, or just throw the few bucks on the 3/3.7 volt unit I listed, as that is throw away money anyways. Seems there are horror stories of fires etc., with any or all of these cheap chargers, so doubtful any one of these is better then another in the end. Geez, I researched buying a BlueRay deck in less time then this! :)

If I were you mac I would stick to the 510 to see if you actually like vaping before you spend hundreds of dollars on devices. It isn't for everyone. I have seen plenty of people NOT like it and have plenty of troubles with it including allergies to PG and I really think you should learn to use the atomizer before jumping in with both feet with a full fledge MOD....

5Steve,

I understand your frustrations as a newbie, it's definitely worth taking the time to read the appropriate sections which relate to the models you are talking about as this is a GG specific forum and not really the place for this type of discussion.
Good luck with the vaping and please do come back to find out more abot the GG, it would solve all your vaping issues for sure.

Mactavish,
I understand you are upset that you felt your thread was being hijacked by another forum user with some unrelated questions, however, here on the GG forum, we pride ourselves on being an extremely friendly and helpful group of people and although I am sure you didn't mean to sound as angry as you did, it's as well to bear in mind that sometimes our words can seem harsher than we originally intended.

As to your original topic, I would strongly suggest you purchase a starter kit to find out if vaping suits you before you spend large amounts of cash on a high-end device like the GG. :)
