HELP---Any Techno Geeks out there?

When I use the links at the top of the threas to navigate to the various parts of the forums, I alway have to refresh my browser to see if there are new posts in a thread. If the thread lists shows new posts and I go ino the thread I then have to refresh again for the new post to show up.

I am running Vista 64 bit and IE 7.

Can anyone help put me on the right path to correct this?

I'm not that familiar with IE7, but, if you don't mind changing your browser to firefox, there's an addon called "reloadevery". What it allows you to do is set your browser to reload the page every xx number of seconds. If you have your browser set on a page, it will just auto reload for you however many seconds you chose. I hope this helps.

I didn't have any luck with the ReloadEvery but I did find another add-on called Check4Change.

Thanks for the info....never thought to look for an Add-On like that.

It's pretty amazing what people can come up with. You can find almost anything for that browser. I'll have to check on that check4change, that might work even better.

Just hit F5 or Ctrl+R to refresh thats how I do it, saves a trip to the mouse!!

Wow, I would NOT recommend any sort of "auto-refresh" plugin for Firefox!!

It should refresh anyway!! Delete cookies and cache, restart your computer.

Using any of those auto-refresh type plugins can cause excessive server strain and bandwidth to be used and that will raise hosting costs for SJ.

Just a thought.

A car forum I'm on a lot refreshes automatically but for some reason this one doesn't. I just manually refresh it. What's funny is I've been on that car forum for 5 years and have nearly 5000 posts. I used to spend all day on there and now it's only occasionally. I'm always on here instead. One other difference on that other forum is in the forum equal to our "General" your post count does not go up when you post. It only goes up in the other areas where you help people with car questions.
