[h=5][/h][h=5]So, any provari mini owners use efest imr 18350's? Just wondering if they'll be fine. I know AW is "the best" but I won a provari mini v2, and I'm seriously broke due to job transitions in the household, etc. Just want to make sure these will be fine till I can upgrade. Found two for $11.80 with shipping free on Amazon, and that's seriously all I could afford, and barely made that LOL. Help! I already ordered them, so please tell me that they'll hold out for a month or so until money gets stable (I hope.) Be honest of course, though. I am a pretty modest vaper. 2.5ohm at around 4.2 - 4.6 volts, so no crazy amps or anything here.[/h]

You'll be fine with the Efest, although they wouldn't be my first choice.

I've used nothing but AW IMR batteries in my mods for over a year. Since my daughter was getting into vaping with her first mod a couple of months ago, I decided to give some Efests a try. I got her two 14500 IMRs for her AltSmoke BB and myself two 18350 IMRs for my Mini.

Initially, for the first 2 - 3 weeks they seemed comparable to the AW's that we both had. (I already had a BB, too, and had given her my older AW 14500 IMR's to start out with.) However, after that both of us noted that the Efests didn't last as long after the charge as when they were brand new, in each of our respective mods. Both of us ditched the Efests and went back to our AW battery rotation.

If this occured with one size battery, I could see perhaps one of us got a bad batch, but since this happened to both of us I find the results to be kind of telling. Your results may differ, as there are plenty of people who swear by Efests. I'll never buy them again, myself.

Thanks :) The shorter charge issue is kind of why I went for the two efests instead of one AW, at least then I can have a backup charged LOL. I will definitely be buying the AW's when money's not so tight though. And yes, I did order button top. :) Are you stalking my MVP posts, Thunderball? :laugh:Glad to know these will do the trick till I can upgrade. Now to resist provari fangirl-ism. LOL I like being a poor MVP fangirl. I hope I'm ready for this LOL.

I am currently running Panny CGR18650 batteries in mine. Only problem i have though is that they are flat top and doesn't make contact with the positive pin. I know this might be bad but i stuck a small magnet on top to make the contact inbetween the battery and the positive pin. Any opinions on this? I have a crap load of these batteries.

"We recommend only using AW IMR high drain batteries in your ProVari.
You must use batteries that have a positive button on the top. Flat top batteries will not work.
Installing magnet(s) on top of your battery is very dangrous and will void the warranty."
- Provape ProVari Variable Voltage Ecig: Best Variable Voltage E Cig Available!

Requiring button top batteries for the Provari is a safety feature that Provape decided to include when designing the Provari. This eliminates the possibilty of inserting a battery in backwards (something that is easy to do with flat top batteries) and prevents reverse polarity issues that can damage electrical circuits like microprocessors.

Using earth magnets on flat top batteries is a risky proposition to get around this safety feature. Batteries are relatively cheap in the scheme of things. I suggest following manufacturer's recommendations and use only button top IMR batteries.
