So here is the deal. I am using the Kanger sub tank, with the re-buildable coils, cotton used for wicking. it is in the Aspire CF subohm battery.
When I fire it up, it has a huge "pop" and spits fluid up the tube, and has twice now gotten in my eye, burns a lot!
The popping has also happened on the stock .5 ohm supplied coil when it is fired up.
I am leaning toward the viscosity of the fluid I am using causing this?

This is pretty common... I've heard it referred to as Juice-Pop. It's from the juice inside the wick is suddenly heated to it's vapor point.
A tight coil/wick can momentarily trap the vapor until it "Pops" out.
When I hear my atties do it, I know they are performing well.
I don't know about the Sub Tank though, but I wouldn't worry too much about it, just get it to your lips before hitting the fire button.

Thanks for the reply UnclePsyko. Ya, the coils are pretty small/tight. I have re-wicked them again, and still same issue. Guess I can try a smaller amount of wick, not as tight and see what happens.
You can experiment with it, but I wouldn't worry too much about the pops.
When the popping stops on my topper, I know it's getting time to change my battery. :D
Or... you could invest in one of these... it sure is purdy!

That pop is perfectly normal... Mine does the same thing, whenever I fill it or it has been sitting for a while I hold it down until it pops and then it is fine until I stop using it again. It happens because there rebuild able section is so tiny that it gets flooded with the eliquid and plugs up the air channel (at least mine does- you feel the air circulation open up after the pop). Also I always listen to make sure my coils are firing right before I hit them whether it be my subtank or any RDA - just a habit I suppose. But don't worry your tank is fine!

I have heard some minor popping along with sizzling with mine on the RBA and prebuilt but definitely no hot juice flying from vape popping myself.. normally things like this have to do with different boiling points of subject fluids though... i.e. in a grease fire a drop of water can cause a massive fireball because of explosive evaporation... I'm using a 70/30 pg/vg and definitely no ejuice money shots here...
