Hey mate -- I'm short on time to properly explain and this will be a bit messy, but consider lowering your voltage and laying a thin piece of cotton overtop of of the coil. The coil is vaporizing the eliquid away quickly, and not staying covered... so as the new eliquid seeps in it encounters the hot spot and goes pop. Lowering the voltage will allow the wicking to keep up a little better, as will playing with the wicking itself (density, etc.) In some cases it can also be condensation from the tube dripping down onto coil, or there being a looot of eliquid over a hot coil causing stuff to pop up through. And yes, different viscosities do better with different amounts/types of wicking.

Also, I suggest not looking straight into the atomizer while firing it. ;)

As others have repeatedly mentioned the popping is a good thing, if you enjoy the performance but are getting spitback probably the simplest fix is get a smaller bore or longer drip tip or a combination of both.

It may slightly increase the resistance of the draw, but should stop any drops escaping.

You could also just get a longer drip tip - or one with a bend in it.

My local vape store guy said to fire the tank at 5 volts. Solved my gurgling and popping perfectly. Still a little popping but no more juice stinging my tongue. I'm not running sub ohm at the moment but, he said 5 volts is the magic voltage for sub ohming too.

OP is using a non-adjustable voltage device.

Also 5v is not a magic number. Say you have a 0.9 coil and then change to a 0.2 ohm coil in your device. Pushing 5 volts will mean 27 watts to the 0.9 ohm coil and 125 watts to the 0.2 ohm coil. The vaping experience will completely different.

Not trying to say you are wrong, as you said they helped you reduce the popping. But I just wouldn't rely on your local guy as a single source of information.
