I need help!! I purchased some pure mint extract at walmart cuz I was out of menthol e-liquid. My question is does anyone know if this is safe to mix and vape? here's the ingredients: 85% alcohol, water,oil of spearmint, oil of peppermint. that's it. I used VG, water & this pure mint extract & it vapes pretty nice & does give me the satisfaction like the regular menthol e-liquid I buy but really would like to know if anyone know's for sure if this is safe to vape?:blush:

Hi Nightseer; It seemed to have mixed pretty good useing VG & plain water since the extract is also water based!! it does taste pretty darn good and since it is used in actual candy etc. isn't that what is used in other menthol based liquid's? I was wanting to try the crystal's as quite a few webstore's do sell the crystal's but just couldn't wait on snail mail for delivery if you know what I mean:) I appreciate your response.

Using anything with oils in it isn't a good idea for long term use. Your lungs are capable of dealing with water soluble substances but it can't expel the oil based components. I would say to it's probably ok to use for a day or two until you can get some menthol crystals, or more juice, but I wouldn't recommend using it long term

I used 4 drops of essential orange oil in a gh1 menthol 10ml and it was delicious, but i wouldn't reccomend it as it made me feel stoned and seemed to aggitate my upper respitory tract. tho the relaxed feeling is why orange eo is used in aromatheraapy, and it was a nice calm feelig not a scary one.

Tho those oils are so strong i could've put 1 drop in and still would've got the flavor still.

Now eos are used in aromatherpay and are inhaled in water steam or actual vaporisers. But the volume of liquid they put 2 or 3 drops in is a lot more than the 1.2ml that say a tank cart can hold and they do not directly inhale them like us vapers do... A lot of these oils are surfacants, meaning they strip layers of grease etc from surfaces....

I did put one tiny drop of spearment eo into 1ml tank cart that already had some menthol in and that was okay and tasted fab, i mean these oils do taste tremeandous, but we just don't know the risks involved without in vito studies, so not worth the risk imho.

Using them perhaps in the mix ratios per volume of liquid that aromatherapists use might be okay, but then in aromatherapy you are not vaping them all day long, every day....

Hi Carrie;
Although I survived the night I am for sure not going to vape anymore of the oil based mint as it sound's pretty scarry to me!! I love to vape which keep's me off the analog's but it's not worth dying over...I have plenty of flue cured purchased from madvapes that's great but was needing my menthol fix..Dumping out all that I mixed up asap...Thank's for your input.

Your element in the atomizer will get gummed-up from the oil burning on it. Kinda like when your car needs an oil change, only the oil is going directly onto the heat source rather than lubricating moving parts. Pretty much apples and oranges, but the burnt oil in the atomizer is bad mkay. Get some simple green or purple power and soak your atomizer in that. Rinse it well alcohol and then hot water. Should free-up and contaminants and have your equipment like new.
