I've been vaping along happily so I haven't participated much in the forums, but now I have a problem and need some help. :(

Here is my setup: Riva battery, madvapes dual coil tank running 1.5 dc cartomizers. BOTH my Riva batteries have apparently given up the ghost. When plugged in, they appear charged (green light) but they aren't. Pushing the button causes the blue light to blink 8 times....even with nothing connected to it.

So, I don't know if it is the charger that is messed up or the batteries themselves. I have read that dual coils can cause premature battery failure. Do you think that it what happened here? The batteries are about 3 months old.

Is there a better battery that I can use with the dual coil tank system? I'm willing to get something else that will work better because I totally love these tanks!

So main questions: 1. Are my batteries toast? 2. What battery should I get to replace them?

If you don't have a spare charger to try them on, that should be among your
next purchases. Backups are necessary until vaping accessories are available locally.:)

Best way to test your charge and / or batteries is with a digital multimeter.
You can pick one up for about $10 that will tell you if the charger is putting out
any voltage, and if your batteries are holding any voltage.

I second the E-Power From Smok Tech and HECS great batts with twice(or more) vape time of the egos and cost less than 5bux to replace...they also have 2r3 times(or more) the lifespan of the egos...if you just want similar batts, try KGO batteries about twice the power of an ego but, they do cost 17bux to replace.........

my first ego battery died the day after i got the kit i dont expect much from those style starter kits

Anyone can get a bad battery. Since it was only a day old I'm sure it was under warranty. I got a bad battery that was quickly replaced with no problems. I have a lot of batteries, and most of my ego type batteries have lasted 5-6 months. My Joye lasted longer than my Riva batteries, but I definitely got my moneys worth.

If you have 2 batteries in rotation, three months isn't all that bad. About $5 a month. It's odd that both died at the same time but the same thing happened with my mom's Riva batteries. But they were closer to 6 months old.

Bet the center pin on your charger is not making contact.

Good bet! Quite common.

I didn't see somebody "first" it!

I like that E-Power setup. Nice price IMO on this kit too. Thanks for the post.

Saw some else selling a 3 "system" kit that uses different batts. in each different size tube - too expensive and too complicated in that configuration for me. Like a full manual VV system with WAY too many parts involved, of sorts...

The one thing that has always bugged me about eGo et al batteries is all that nice, shiny metal being tossed out because you can't get at the battery inside to replace it. Wasteful.

Question: What voltage do you get out of this with it's 14650 batteries?

...never measured it...the E-Power is supposed to have a 3.7v regulated switch and from my experience, it sure seems like it does...very consistent hit for at least 10+hrs (for me vaping 4-5ml/day) and 2+hrs of acceptable performance afterwards..............

Coming back to say the problem is my charger. It charges fine on her charger. After further inspection on my own charger, there is a part that looks melted and "dimpled" to a degree on the back side of the part that connects to the battery. When, how, and why that happened.... I dunno. Sort of scary, though. But....either way I'm ordering a new charger.
