I know this has probably already been answered somewhere in this forum but I have no idea where to start looking. I had this same problem about a year ago and ended up having to soak in oil and then scratched up both my Ody and GGTS getting the Ody off with channel locks. Since then I've been very careful to keep the threads lubricated with a little vaseline and haven't had this problem again until today. Ody is bound again and I don't want to scratch it any more. Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. And what causes this so I can hopefully avoid it happening again? Thanks!!!

I would try a hot water soak , and then tape off the parts with electrical tape to get a better grip ...
it just happens smitty. Next time dont screw so hard parts together and dont screw rebuildable part of Ody when its base is on GGTS.
As jeff said, you need a good grip. I use non slippery gloves from farmacy. The cost is 5 euros per 100 pieces

I would try the normal. Rubber gloves, electrical tape, or my favorite rubber bands. I have had some seized parts but nothing that some rubber bands didn't unbind.
First thing first use the rubber gloves like the yellow ones you use for cleaning dishes. this will help get them off good. you may need to replace the collector tank if the thread is bent on ggts.
Thanks guys for all the help. It was my own fault for getting slack in keeping the threads lubricated but I finally got the Ody off by using electrical tape and channel locks with no noticeable damage.
