Filling 901 carts with poly batting (20 oz.). It's the kind without fire ......ent. I get one or two good draws and I have to top off....ridiculous.

I used about a 1"x1" square rolled blanket style, had to cut a good 1/2" off to make it level with the cartridge after inserting it. I'm also using the straw mod although right at this moment, I have the straw out since I'm having so many problems with it. I've gone through probably over 2ml of juice today and I'm NOT a heavy vapor at all. A battery will last me just about all day if that's any indication.

It's almost like the filling isn't dense enough (too loose?) or it needs primed or something. I filled the cart about 1/3 way with juice before putting the filler in then topped off with about 7 drops initially. The only thing different in my "recipe" is no flavoring this time aside from 3 drops of creme de menthe and 3 drops of menthol....

I'm reaching for analogs because I can't get a consistent hit off this....the burnt taste crops up after 2 or 3 draws....

Hey lorrain, OTD here and greetings.

At 1st blush sounds as though your filling is too tight. Course that might not be the issue at all but for the heck of it...

What has been working very well for me on both 901 and 510 is a reasonably loose poly-fil fill. that almost sounded stupid.

I'm using the poly from walmart, morning glory brand, High Loft. You know, the big bag that will have me in material for the next 50 years.

It is compressed into a sheet. The thickness of this sheet is every so slightly thicker than the thin dimension of the 901 cartridge.

I gauge the depth of the cart with a straightened paper clip. Cut a piece of batting that length.

I then cut that into a piece that is ever so slightly wider than the wide cartridge dimension.

Holding the piece with narrow tweezers I fit it into the cart. It really appears way too loose this way but problems such as you are describing went away for me once I got this method figured out. By changing the filler every day, every 2 days max, I got a lot of practice in. Now I only use the straw mod on my 601 and 801.

There are many others on this forum much more eloquent than I, I hope my description was clear enough to give you some ideas.
