hi everyone... i'm new to this e-smoking thing. a friend gave me a starter kit as a gift. it's an M401 model from a company called cigateq. went to their website and it's not up and running. so i couldn't order refills from them.

so i went to a website that sells cartridges for this model and bought them. the only problem is the new cartridges wont slide all the way down on to the atty. the outer part of the cartridges are both the same length and same diameter which is fine. but the inner cartridges are slightly different. the new inner cartridges are:

  1. slightly shorter than the original
  2. if you look at the cross section of the inner cartridge. the new one is a perfect circle. on the original ones, it almost looks like a semi circle because one side is straight. (do you know what i mean?)
i'm guessing that's why it wont slide all the way down. is there any way i could fix this?

is the bridge supposed to be touching the the fill?

it seems like the cartridge won't push down any further because it's hitting the bridge. i think surgery is what i'm going to have to do. if i shave off a bit of the inner cartridge that holds the fill. that might enable the whole mouth piece assembly to push down properly on top of the atty. the only problem with shaving down the inner piece is that i wont be able to stuff as much fill into the cartridge which would mean it would hold less e-juice :(

When I first got my M401, I learned that I push the inner cart to the top of the mouth piece, top off the inner cart, then using the atomizer push the inner cart back in. That way the atty bridge is touching the filler. Makes it wick better. I didn't know that at first and the performance was terrible. Why the inner carts are shaped different, I'mnot sure. I've never seen that before.
