I have been vaping for a couple months now and just purchased a new to me Provari. I'm looking for a nice topper to go along with it that will be an upgrade from the PT2 I currently use (I have a IGO-L that I use when I'm home). There are so many different options out there that I don't know which one to go with.

If it matters, I do microcoil builds with cotton wicks which I'd like to stick to. I'm looking for something that relatively inexpesive (i.e. <$30), easy to set up and provides good vapor/flavor. Reading around, there's the kayfun, KFL, Taifun GT and GS, Russian and Russian 91% among others. I'm of course going to have to go with a clone with my budget, but any suggestions and why you think it would be a good choice would be greatly appreciated.

I think that you will be happy with your choice. The KFL design really delivers and the clones are of decent quality especially for the price.

Micro/cotton builds are easy to do and deliver a quality vape. Be ready to use less cotton than you think you need to though. The KFL thread is full of amazing info. Good luck and let us know how it goes for you.

Thanks Yotogi! I'm hoping they have the Taifun as it seems to be a slightly refined KFL from what I read. If not, I'll probably just go with the KFL and perhaps order the Taifun from FT. I can probably get both from FT for slightly more than just 1 of them from my B&M, but I don't like to wait on stuff. :)

Thanks retic! My local B&M has the HCIGAR Kayfun for the same price, so I'd rather pick it up locally rather than wait on shipping. How much better of a vape experience will I get with one of these RBAs vs. the PT2?
For me it was kinda like going from a steam engine to a nuclear reactor ! Magnitudes better . All my protanks and aspires have been boxed up in my vape museum for months , the protanks were a major PITA , you won't miss them , I promise ! :)

I've never really had an issue with my PT2, but I expect to get a better overall experience out of the KFL. Plan to use it for my ADV (Strawberry Shortcake from MBV) and the PT2 will be for my secondary to use when I get home and want to change it up a little bit.

Edit: One more question...how is the size compared to the PT2 (i.e. height seeing as I know it's typically wider)

I support this comparison. You are in for a real treat once you get your setup right. Be a bit patient as you work through getting it right. You won't miss your PT. I certainly don't!

It is bigger, but you have options like getting a nano tank to shorten it. Since it is 22mm in diameter, it looks great on mechs and other 18xxx mods, but it would look off on anything ego style. It looks a bit odd on my MVP, but fantastic on my Magneto. I don't know what you use for a mod, but if you don't have a VV mod or a mech, you may want to budget for one to really open up your build options.

yotogi - I've heard many comments about getting a setup right in regards to RBAs, but not quite sure I understand. With my PT, I build the coil, place it in the head, install the cotton wick and go. How is it different in a KFL, Taifun, Russian style RBA? What are some things I should consider or pay attention to when I build it?
