Santa was super nice to me this year and I got a lovely shiny gold Vamo... Unfortunately my experience of vaping so far is a clearomizer and Ego-T, I am struggling to see the point of the vamo?

The problem I am having is that if I raise the vv or vw at all I just get a horrible burnt taste from my vivi nova or my clearomizers. I'm wondering if I need a different tank???

The Vamo did come with loads of other stuff that's beyond me, a lovely gold tank that I have to fill with allumium mesh and bits of wire etc after scouring youtube I really can not see me doing that in a million years. I also got a direct dripping atomizer (shiny gold too!) but I don't know what to do with it?? do I just screw it onto the vamo and drip? Its a BiM??

It's a shame because hubby obviously went to alot of trouble to get me a nice kit and I'm just using it as a glorified Ego. Any suggestions for alternative tanks or methods I should be using...

As an after thought, why doesn't anything come with instructions?? when you buy a toaster the instructions are heavier than the flipping machine :)

Thanks in advance and I hope you're having a great Christmas break!

As to voltage: you adjust the voltage or wattage for whatever you are using at the moment. You don't have to get as high as you can get it. Just start at 3.7v and bump it up a little if it tastes weak. Once you find the setting for what you have at the moment, leave it alone. Once you get used to it, VV is pretty handy.

Just one quick answer to a question you asked, the advantage of the vamo. If you watch videos and look some stuff up online on how to change the settings, RMS is the way to go. When you can set the vamo to power (wattage) and find a setting you like, you can attach any atomizer, cartomizer, or anything to the device and it will vape the same. Its just less confusing because you don't have to buy atomizers to specifically match your device. I do like the dual coil tank idea for sure! I use a zmax with a cartomizer tank and it is the best vape ive had in a long time. The zmax is comparable to the VAMO. After you get used to it and use it more you will be very happy your husband got you one :)

There is a downloadable user manual in the VAMO forum that you might find helpful.

The atomizer on your Vivi Novas may have burnt gunk on them. If that is the case they will taste nasty until they are cleaned. Follow the directions in PBusardo's video to clean and dry burn them. That should get rid of any residual burnt taste.
A PBusardo Tutorial - Vivi Nova Cleaning & Rebuilding

Press down the plus button and hold it for ten seconds. If it reads no1 press and hold down the plus button for ten seconds again until you see no2. The no1 mode can produce crazy amounts of power which may have been responsible for the burnt taste you are getting.

I would suggest you use your VAMO in variable watts mode as that means the VAMO remembers your wattage settings and will adjust the power to keep your vape consistent even when you use delivery devices with different ohms. This means that the VAMO does all the ohms, voltage and wattage thinking for you instead of you having to fiddle with it.

To change between variable watts and variable volts press the plus and minus buttons down at the same time. The screen will read either 3.0W or 3.0V. Choose the one with 3.0W. After you put on a juice delivery device press the plus button and try a vape. Repeat until you get a setting you like. Once you have the setting you prefer the VAMO will adjust to that vape from then on no matter what juice delivery device you use.

If you can't interest your husband in tackling the rebuildable atomizer for you perhaps you can exchange it for something else.

Hey there....I believe you have a fantastic kit and you just need to spend a little time browsing around here to gain a little more knowledge. The vivi should do just fine. The rebuildable atomizers/clearomizers are a bit involved. Do a little research on these and I think you will get a great return on your investment in the knowledge.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

It was on the No 1 mode and there was an immediate improvement once I changed it! As advised I stuck with playing with it in the VW and with a bit of patience I am starting to get the hang of it :) Though it still seems too powerful for my Vivi Nova's.

I have ordered a couple of dual coil tanks to play with, and I feeling optomistic today so I might have a go at the rebuildable Genesis thingy (i've found a couple of youtube help pages) Eeeeek wish me luck!

Thank you again!

The vivi nova does not play well with even slightly higher voltage/wattage.

Not true. I use vivi novas with the Vamo all the time and up the watts when I want a warmer vape. Just use the 2.4 and 2.8 ohm heads. Lots of people are using them with the Vamo actually. Vivis don't go well at really high watts, but slightly higher - no problem with mine.

Hi busybee - you don't need dual coils with a Vamo. If anything it goes better with standard resistance, single coil. Just use single coil cartomizers - 2.8, 3.0 or 3.2 ohms. The power it has, it doesn't need low resistance dual coils.
Also, with the vivis - as peraspera said, start at the lowest watts and click up until it tastes good. Watts is the better way to use it.
