The ability to swap out the batteries on the Vamo is also a big plus. I just came back from a long camping trip with my SS Vamo. No power supply available, so took extra batts in and was able to keep vaping all weekend.

Greetings; Not too many usb outlets available on a camping trip! :D

I guess my lesson from this thread is that I shouldn't have viewed this as an either/or choice -- if I need a device that has heavy duty power plus long battery life, and if I also need a device that's portable and usb-chargeable, then I need two different devices. There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to vape gear.

Regards
Glenn

Between those two the Vamo as long as size isn't an issue.

Especially for a camping trip. You can charge up a bunch of batteries and be set for a long time (I figure I can make it through a 20 day power outtage depending on the state of charge of the batteries in my mods at the time the power goes out, longest ever has been 7 days because of a nearby tornado).

The iTaste VV/Vw is a nice mod. It is also not much bigger than the setup you are currently using. If you do decide to go this route, make sure you get the VV/VW model. The older model only is VV and does not have an ohm reader.

From what I have gathered, there is not much difference between the Vamo V2, V3, or V5. I really would not worry about which version. One thing to consider: when you buy a Vamo, you also need to get batteries and a charger. You really want to spend $20+ for the charger. The Nitecore Intellicharget is a very common one. Then you also need batteries. There are many to choose from. Some of the more common ones are AW, Panasonic CGR, or Efest. AW is pretty much the gold standard in the vapor community right now.

Mods are only a power source. The kind of vapor you get is largely determined by the type of atomizer/clearomizer/whatever.

I picked up a Nitecore i4 for $17 off of Amazon last week. I already have one, but I wanted a backup. Check Amazon.

I'm also trying to make this decision. My concern with the itaste VW V3 is that I have to push a button to vape and I suffered a stroke a few years ago and am concerned about repeated button pushing. Any thoughts?

I am not a doctor so I cannot comment on repeated stress syndrome or anything like that, but I have had both the Vamo V5 & ITaste SVD and neither of them require much effort to push. In fact they are quite easy to accidentally push when you are picking the device up to vape.

Greetings; I've been vaping for close to 2 months now and, with all the great help available on this forum, I've learned what I needed to know to get a pretty decent vaping experience, enough so that quitting tobacco has been no problem at all. I'm currently using an eGo Twist with a BCC clearomizer, and 18 mg 50-50 liquid for my DV.

I had basically decided to get an iTaste VV battery kit; I don't want a spend a lot of money in the near future, but for a pretty decent price the iTaste will give me some features I would really like, such as VW mode, and also an ohm checker (I want to try rebuilding PT coils). Also, if I understand correctly, the iTaste will give me more power than the Twist is capable of.

I was about to pull the trigger on this purchase, but it turns out that I can get a Vamo for basically the same price. I'm hoping to get some advice in terms of choosing between these two models. The Vamo will let me replace batteries when they wear out, choose the device length I want to go with (i.e. an 18350 vs an 18650 battery), and I suspect that the Vamo is a more reliable device (I've watched the PBusardo iTaste VV video). I have a hunch that the Vamo is capable of delivering thicker vapour, which is definitely something that I want.

Is this a no-brainer decision in favour of the Vamo, or should I really consider going with the iTaste? I might want to get something higher up the food chain down the road, but for now I want to stay within the price range of these two power packs.

Oh, one other thing; the Vamo in question is a V2, hence the inexpensive price (old stock -- fwiw the newest model I can get locally at this point is the V3). Is that a major factor in this decision?

Yes slightly more power- Twist is 3.3- 4.8 volts while iTaste is 3.3- 5.0 volts.
Really comparing iTaste to the Vamo is like apples to oranges. Vamo is far more powerful.

I own the Vamo V2 and V3 and I find the quality of the V3 to be superior to that of the V2.
In regards to upgrading from a Twist to the iTaste it would be more like a sideways move "power wise". Maybe a few extra bells and whistles with the iTaste.
