I mixed a couple hundred ml of various liquids, but my Koolada is coagulating. Didn't happen before and didn't happen to the other liquids I made using the same PG & VG. I mixed at 25% Koolada, 25$ PG, and 50% VG. I think it may have something to do with the reducing temperatures in the house. I nuked it for about 15 seconds and it became clear and smooth. When it cooled, it started coagulating again.

Any ideas?

When you say "coagulating", do you mean clumping, or has it actually turned milky? Koolada is methyl lactate.

Yes, it was sort of "milky." It was more of a milky, bubbly, crystalline consistency floating above a small layer of clear liquid. It appears it was the high percentage I used (25%). The last time I made it, I used 18% with no problem. I added some PG and it looks normal now. Funny how it acts so differently than menthol crystals.

Thanks. :)

No problem...since none of us are professional chemists, who knows what interactions can/will occur...it's really all a crapshoot ;)

Sorry, I came into this thread late, but I saw 25% Koolada and thought, "HOLY ... COW!" Then I laughed at your choking. This is how I know I'm not a nice guy... I do really believe your avatar's message though!

For those that are wondering about Koolada, it gives the feeling of menthol without the taste. A drop or three in a typical bottle can brighten up a fruit flavor. 5% will give a cool feeling that reminds you of that first Altoids when you were a kid. Combining Menthol with Koolada will really give a cooling kick that some folks love and some will hate.

And from the description given, it seems that it can act as an oil with VG as far as appearances go if the amount is high enough. This is the part I found interesting as I had never thought of going that high.

25% wow I laughed with Hoosier so Im going to hell too....

There's nothing wrong with laughing at my idiocracy. I mixed at 25% so I can add pre-made Koolada liquid to other flavors. Even then, at a 50/50 mix with other flavors, it was too strong. With my corrections, it is now 20% which makes it about 10% when mixed with other flavors. Still a bit too strong for most.

What can I say, I like the kick. That's why I love my menthol flavor from ecigExpress which is 66% menthol crystals. Even if someone doesn't like it that strong, it's more economical than a 10% crystal mixture for the same price.:p
