2 1/2 weeks ago I received the madvapes eGo 900mAh kit and have been loving it.

Unfortunately, it looks like one of the batteries has stopped working. Mid vape it just stopped producing vapor.

I checked the atomizer by putting it on the other battery and it was fine.

I put the "dead" battery on the charger and when I screw it in the blue button LED flashed a few times, but the charger indicator never turns red (charging).

The really interesting thing is that if I put multimeter on the battery and push the button, I read ~3.7V

I though the center button might need to be lifted and tried that, but it made no difference (and in hindsight, since the connecting it to the charger seemed to do something, even if not charge, it makes sense that this would not be the problem).

Any thoughts?
Defective battery? Warrenty replacement? Am I doing something wrong?

I'm no electrical expert. If this is the Madvapes set I'm thinking of, it's made by Smok Tech and they do have center contact problems. I recall reading reviews on their site some folks even file the batts down to get a better contact. I wouldn't be surprised if your two batts don't have identical contacts. It could also be a faulty circuit board inside. Did you open a ticket with them?

If I were you, I'd just exchange it under warranty. I haven't had any problems with my Rivas in 3 weeks...yet.

Edit: here are some more reviews on those same batts, may give clue http://www.madvapes.com/eGo-Style-900mah-Battery_p_3123.html

I did open a ticket with them this morning. Waiting to hear back.

I thought about the center button issue, but as stated in my original post, it stopped mid vape. Was working fine until then. But I did lift it a bit just to see.
When connecting to the charger, it seems to do something. The blue button LED flashes like it should, but the charge light never goes red.

I tried several different attys that work on the other battery, but not this one.

One of the attys that came with my Riva set did die in a week. I tried to lift the contact, no go. It was replaced under warranty. I'm still thinking circuit board inside.

I heard you often cannot properly read an Ego's voltage externally, not even with the dedicated 510-threaded volt meters. And after trying to, the battery can act oddly.

Did you try another atomizer or cartomizer on it?

And BTW you are the second person this week to have a Madvapes "Ego" battery die. I recommend buying a real Joye Ego.

Try another atomizer or carto on it, or try the same atomizer on a different battery, to make sure your atomizer is not the issue.

And meanwhile double check that both the end of the battery and the end of the charger are both clean and dry, especially down in that valley around the center post of the battery (any liquid there will short it).

I think you're right regarding their batteries. I'm still bugged about the fact that I have to adjust a brand new battery practically every time I use it.
