The best guide is by profile itself and comes up if you Google it,you just wrap the strip around a tool supplied with the tank and then fit it ,give it a quick dry burn and then undo one side of the strip and gently lift it ,centre your cotton and wrap the strip round it and tighten it back up, cut cotton at an angle and trim the ends, tuck in and trim excess cotton, takes about 10 minutes

I never undo the mesh once it has been formed and installed. You can squeeze the wick underneath and if you can’t, you’re using too much wick.

Thanks, I'll try that, my strip does not deform using my method but I think it's best to try yours, I'm new to these profiles but not new to mesh strip tanks, I have a vandy vape mesh and you have to undo one side to position the cotton as it's vertical, not my favourite tank :grr::grr:

Never used the VV mesh RTA you are referring to, but familiar with its design which does require the mesh to be undone at one side in order to wick. But that method is not needed for the Profile (both RDA and RTA). Just twist the end of you cotton to taper it off, slightly push down on the spring loaded base and slide through. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Trim as needed and enjoy! But if your method works without deforming the mesh, by all means utilize it :thumb:

My unity only came with one strip and it was the .13 ohm, my rda profile came with both 18 and 13,so you best get an order in ,wotofo strips are cheap but orf are twice the price, and it comes with a 5ml glass, you have to use the little extension

I do not understand the exploited prices of the OFRF mesh. It is slightly higher in mass, hence the higher wattage range, but the minute amount of Kanthal needed to increase its mass is certainly not justified by the extravagant price difference. I suspect the same company makes both.

Shop around, you can find cheaper prices. I found one Canadian retailer that sells them at a fraction of what the market norm is – took advantage of a holiday sale and cleaned out his inventory. Have enough to last a few years.

The $4.69 US price on Fasttech is reasonable, but I have seen it as high as $25 US …. That’s just silly!

I totally agree, I use a roll of strip for my rda, cost me about 3 UK for about 5 metres but I'm using prebuilt in my unity, its always the same with products, a company will jump in and charge a fortune, the ofrf are extortionate considering how much actual metal is in the product but you do get 10 strips, so even going with ofrf will be cheaper than stock coils

Don't be disappointed with your first hits with the unity, it takes time to get it right, start at 30w and go up bit by bit, remember there is a lot of cotton in it and you might get a cotton taste at first, I didn't like it at first but yes it's a nice tank, no leakage and pretty good flavour for an rta

I suspect the OP wishes to stick with cartridge type drop in coils – which is perfectly fine, we use what suits our needs, and sometimes convenience outweighs cost.

For the Unity, I use 3/4 of a Muji pad with the harder outer layer removed, lightly rolled (the remaining 1/4 of the Muji pad is perfect for a 3mm coil so no waste). Cut in line with the wicking guard in the juice well, fluffed to remove any compression from the cut but not thinned out. Tuck a small amount into the juice guard, allowing for expansion and just leave the remaining as is. Sometimes a little trim is needed, depends on how clean my cut was (need new scissors, mine are getting dull).

Pour a boat load of juice on the dry wick to fully saturate - to the point where it cannot consume any more, reassemble the tank and fill. Fire at my usually 60 watts and enjoy. No gradual increase in power, no dry burns, no break in, no cotton taste! Depending on juice I can get over a months use out of a wick with on average about 15ml per day vaped.

The OP has ordered a unity and I think for a first rebuildable a pretty good choice, yes I'm getting great results from the rda with the strip, not had the unity long enough to give any feedback, what I mean is how long the build will last, I've just built it again cause I tryed rayon and not used to it, I will post how long this cotton build lasts

I just bought the profile unity rta.. watched the video and im ready.
thanks for all your help everyone!. i will no longer be a slave to buying overpriced coils!
Welcome and glad you joined.
Might like to look at:
Search Results for Query: making mesh coils | E-Cigarette Forum
Might want to try the ECF search function in upper right hand corner (google/Youtube may have an answer) of this post. Could type in "making mesh coils".
Suggest try watching a few good Youtube vid's. You could google "Youtube vape: making mesh coils" . Nothing like watching it being done if reading about it doesn't sink in.
