Hi ive been vaping for about two weeks now. I only vape 0mg due to i dont want to get nicotine in my system.
I use the Kangertech evod pro 2. Its very easy to use and clean and maintain.
Currently I bought a M16 grandvapor with 18650 battery mod. I then used the nimbus clone.
I used the mod for the very first time. i took off the nimbus cover and toggled the trigger button a couple of times to see if it works. The both coils seem to work good and it has a mini looking rope in between the coils.
I used a e juice that i just bought. I toggled it again. the smoke seems to vape alot. For a while i see the burning red in the coils. I put again some e liquid and it seems to fire there was a flame lit up? what the heck?
i did toggle the switch until it looked like it smokes up good?

Okay I installed the cover and then I vaped the smoke. feels very hard and i feel weird to my throat lungs idk?
I felt my throat was very hard harsh with smoke when i inhalled. It felt like I inhaled burnt smoke unlike a smooth vape inhale with my kanger tech evod pro 2?
how does these bigger m16 mods works? i used the kangertech evod pro 2 again with the same e liquid feels much smoother without anyburnt feeling in my throat.

did i setup my mod wrong? how much liquid do i need to put inside the nimbus? w/the heck is wrong with this thing? lol sorry im a noob,
please help me did i do something wrong?
ive spent more on my new mod....

First, a few questions for you.

1. Do you have an ohm reader or a DMM?
2. What is the ohm of your coil?
3. What battery are you using (brand/mAh/amp rating)?
4. Have you read up on battery safety, ohms law, amp draw?

My friend has a DMM i will try hit him up tomorrow if i could borrow.
I don't know the ohm on the coil? but i know there is two coils in my nimbus clone. the place where i bougt i checked it says 1.2 ohm each coil. dual silicia wick and wire.
The battery i don't know but ive charged it up took like a full day to be charged to the charger to become green. done. the battery is a china ebay brand color purple. says on the battery (INR18650 NA13F14 008014) what brand is this battery. i was also worried and it took a full day to charge it says 2200mah?

i dont know of the amps/batt/ amp draw?

what do i do wrong?

Your nimbus is a dripping atty. I do not know how much eliquid it holds but most likely you are getting a harsh hit is because you do not have enough eliquid in the atty.

1. My friend has a DMM i will try hit him up tomorrow if i could borrow.

2. I don't know the ohm on the coil? but i know there is two coils in my nimbus clone. the place where i bougt i checked it says 1.2 ohm each coil. dual silicia wick and wire.

4. i dont know of the amps/batt/ amp draw?

1. If you are going to use a rebuildable you MUST have your own ohm reader or DMM. You need to measure every build BEFORE you put it on your mod and fire it.

2. (2) 1.2ohm coils give you a resistance of 0.6ohms. However, this needs to be confirmed when both coils are installed and measured with an ohm reader or DMM.

3. I can't verify the amp rating of your batteries. I can't say if they are safe or not. Maybe someone else can chime in on this. It should not take all day to charge a 18650 battery.

4. If you are going to be using a mech mod and a rebuildable you need to read and understand battery safety, ohm's law and understand how amp limits fit into the whole picture. Until you have done all this, set aside your mech mod and your nimbus and go back to your previous setup. I will post some links (in my next post) to get you started.

To quote Baditude (our resident battery expert): "Read up. It's homework time!":toast:

Battery Basics for Mods contains a list of recommended high-drain IMR or IMR/hybrid batteries for use in a mechanical mod.

Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries describes what an IMR, IMR/hybrid, and ICR battery are. Explains what the letters & numbers mean on batteries.

Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised

Concerning battery chargers: Any charger from Pila, Xtar, Nitecore, or the Efest LUC will be appropriate for your application. The more money you invest in a charger, the more features you'll get. Considering that batteries are the MOST IMPORTANT investment you will make in your vape setup, it makes sense to use a high quality charger.

The previous recommendation of reputable vendors to purchase batteries and chargers are highly recommended to avoid getting counterfeit batteries, which is a growing problem.

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

First of all I'm going to second every word above. As with anything, having the proper tools and knowing the source of your equipment is the first step on your road to success. That being said, going through your post it seems like you've gone and done burnt the silica wicks. This creates a really harsh and burnt flavor in your vape, also who knows what you're inhaling with those burnt wicks. Burnt wicks happen when there isn't enough juice on your dripper. I think it's safe to say we've all been there starting out. So change those wicks and make sure to juice them up really well. As for your battery taking all day, the first charger I bought was a cheap single bay pos. It took all day for my battery to charge. Consider getting yourself a decent charger, from what I've seen (not that I've seen much) you won't find a decent charger with only a single bay.
