Help! First mech build

Hey ECF I just built my first microcoil in my new kayfun. I did 10 wraps with 28 gauge kanthal following rip trippers video tutorial but I accidentally fired the coil when I was pinching the coil with tweezers and shorted the coil burning the kanthal. It was only for a second but I was just wondering if that ruined my battery? I am using the new purple efest 10.5 amp 18350's. Unfortunately I don't have a volt meter or an ohm meter but I rebuilt the coil and have been vaping it with some cotton balls I picked up from safeway. I will be getting those meters soon but I was just wondering if my battery is ruined from shorting? Also are regular cotton balls fine for wicking? I boiled it a couple times for about 15 minutes because I read somewhere to do that. I am super new to this but I am really enjoying the flavor I am getting, any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I will depend as to the APV you are using. If a mechanical no telling since I've never done it on mine however if say a Vamo or others with protection odds are nothing was damaged.

It was a mechanical unfortunately, the battery seems to be performing fine so far. However, the cotton I put in it is not wicking nearly as well as it was when I first built my coil.

The wicking problem could simply be a matter of too much or too little cotton. Cotton is pretty much what it is so it comes down to how long you make the wick and how much cotton is in the wick.

I am about to take the leap into building my own coils so obviously I am no expert but I know the one thing you MUST HAVE IS AN OHM METER. With out it you are flying blind into a possible poop storm. Ohm meters are so much cheaper tha emergancy room visit!!!

your battery is fine. If you are scared then sell it to me. Batts don't go bad on a milisecond short like that.
