Hello cory and welcome...you are in the right place to get your info...these people are great and have and share a lot of info...as for myself I like a 1.6 ohm coil on my nautius mini and cotton...COTTON is great...but you need to find what works best for you...have fun and vape on.

I use two different single coil builds. 28g 10 wraps on a 1/16 micro screwdriver at 1.3 ohms for 18mg liquid and 8 wraps on same screwdriver at 1.1 ohms for 12mg liquid. All for my Reos.

use 22, 24, 26 A1 Kanthal, and always use tension wrapped coils, whether single or multiples, Then it depends on the rba being built, purrfer vertical mounted coils when air supply is below the build, then a lot depends on build is for a reg or a mech. which will determine my target ohms and gauge of wire.
Wick of choice is Ramie Top Fiber, and degummed Hemp fiber.

Changed my whole coil dealie about a week ago in my RSBT tank.
Currently running 2 mm triple twisted 28 ga kanthal at .5 ohms wicked with cotton.
Runs like a champ!

Single coil (duals drain the battery faster and don't give me THAT much more vapor) 24g Kanthal, 10 wraps on a 2 mm screwdriver, 0.7 ohms - .05 was too hot, and too harsh for me.
Oh! Organic cotton for the wick. But I haven't tried silica wicks yet - gonna play with that today. Just got my first mech and RDA's (a couple of Plume Veil clones) for Christmas. Still finding my way in the mech world.

Right now, I am using 30 gauge Kanthal twisted micro coils. I have switched to cellular cotton exclusively after reviewing organic cotton for a local B&M and finding that organic cotton just fails on all fronts IMHO.
My A7 that I use for B&M flavor testing is at .6ohms between the screws right over the air intake for best flavor and plumage
My REO RM2 is at .6 ohms
Darkhorse, Vulcan, and Plume Veils are all set dual coil at .5 ohms
Lemos are set at 1.1 ohms so I can use them on my MVPs
