Please read this and spread the information

There has been alot of debate over the Aspire nautilus and now the new ATLANTIS is here - You may or may not know that the chimney of these tanks is CHROME PLATED BRASS. There has been debate over Aspire using their own researched wicking material

ASPIRE is asking the community for advice on improving the tanks - Please voice your concern and help us make this vendor change these materials for the better

Thanks Susan -- maybe you could duplicate this post where more people will see it and make the link active? I think this is important for the community!!!
Yes, I could BUT since you brought this information to us you will be able to post it in the "General Vaping Discussion" forum as soon as you get in 5 posts and the system updates at :25 past the hour.

I think it's more that people "feel that they have been duped" -- it would have been preferable to know that the chimney was chrome plated. It doesn't really seem to have much to do with the potential health risks implied.

There are a lot of other threads about this very topic, and they sort of all say the same thing. In the end, just think about all these people who won't even know, and maybe when they find out, they won't even care. Vocal minority, silent majority, etc.

Also, the argument that pipes are brass doesn't really have anything to do with this considering we aren't heating up our brass pipes and sucking nicotine-rich glycerine-vapor out of them.

The most important thing is - Brass is soft and will crossthread easy -- Over time the chrome plate will wear off and mix with eliquid and TINY brass shavings will work into the liquid as well

Seen this happen first hand -- If it was all SS this would never been an issue

Ah, always used seal tape with a brass fitting so I never saw that.

I don't get the concern over brass. I've helped build plenty of homes over the years and frequently used brass water valves in the bathroom and kitchen. Fitting for copper pipes as well are almost always brass. I read long time ago they used to contain lead but not in decades.

I have (and use) lots of chrome plated brass clones, but if I am to $buy$ an authentic Kanger, Aspire, Svoemesto, or other big name brand tanks, I would expect at least culinary grade (or better yet - surgical grade) stainless steel and don't mind paying for it.

In fact, kanger has a lower line of chrome plated brass tanks, but the top line tanks are supposed to be steel.

More importantly, when the manufacturer advertises their product as "steel", it should be steel.
Aspire could get sued for false advertising.
