Hi guys,
I am new to the forum, so I couldn't reply to the thread about loss of flavour in Aspire Nautilus. But since this tank is definitely one of the best, if not the best I ever tried, I decided to start this new thread.
I was also having the same issue like most of you, no flavour on Nautilus. When it was working it was really the best vape ever, but then...
Well, I ordered new heads, but while waiting for them, I decided to try something.
If you look at this guide on (can't post link) on you tube about rebuilding nautilus head titled "Micro Coil Build In The Aspire Nautilus",
you will see how you can rebuild single coil. I ordered wire also, but while waiting for everything to arrive, I've taken a step further.
I found out that most problems with Nautilus are connected to heads, nothing else. First thing that can help is not to screw head too tight. As a matter of fact, stop before you feel that head can't go any more. That helps with vacuum and air flow in the tank.
Second, and the biggest problem is wicks. I think that in some batches they used dodgy wick, and that is preventing flavour to be extracted. So what I did is pulled out existing coils and replaced wicking material to cotton. I didn't even have organic cotton, I just used normal one. It did smell on chemical from cotton similar to perfume, but it was just first few drags (don't inhale these). After those first few drags, Oh my god, the flavour is back, no matter which hole you use or what voltage.
If you are not sure how to replace the wick, just look at the guide that I gave you above, and do the same thing what he did with new coil, only do that on both original coils and put them back. Make the cotton as thick as it can go through with some force, in other words, make it thickest possible. While it will take more time to soak, it will hold the coils better, and you will never have dry hit, because when that soaks the juice, you will need a lot, but I mean a lot of vaping to make it so dry to feel dry hits.
So, if you are sick of buying new heads, try this. Its worth it, makes great vapour and flavour and saves you money on top.
Let me know if you are confused about anything and I'll try to help.
Hope this bring faith in Nautilus again because it is really the best tank out there.
