I am flying out to San Diego tomorrow morning. I read a couple of the blogs about the TSA and airports, but then realized the ones i read were from 2009. I need to know what the rules are and best way to get my pv and juice thru security and on the plane. Is vaping allowed in airports/on planes? Carry-on or checked baggage to transport?

vaping is not allowed on any planes.

Vaping is allowed in SOME airports. When in doubt,,,ask.

You are allowed to carry a certain amount of liquids with you in approved containers, which should be placed in plastic, quart sized, zip loc bags,,,,,,

here's the info on liquids,,,,,,,

3-1-1 for Carry-ons | Transportation Security Administration

anything more than allowed should be packed in your checked baggage.

when in doubt, call the airlines.

your PV itself shouldn't present a problem,,,,,,but don't try and vape it on the plane or in the bathroom on the plane,,,,,,,unless you want them to put the plane down and kick you off and make you pay to get home on your own. I'd place it in the bin that goes through the Xray,,,,,,if they have any questions, they'll ask you, but most of them know what e-cigarettes are now.

Gear and juice in checked baggage - okay.
    Gear in carryon - okay.
Juice in 3oz bottles in "Freedom Bag" - okay.
Vaping in airport - mostly okay.
Vaping in planes - don't get caught.

The TSA is aware of the electronic cigarette and what it entails. I keep my gear and juice in my carryon on top and showing.
Airlines don't allow vaping because it saves them the headache of having to tell everyone else why it's not harmful.

These are my experiences upon my most recent flights and inquiring within the last 2 years.

Sweet made it thru no problem. It was kind of funny watching the TSA trying to figure out what the liquid was. But no questions, no hassles.

    So you did the carryon?
Any announcements regarding ecigs by the flight staff?
Any vaping in the airport (or elsewhere)?

I would advise keeping your batteries in carry-on only... loose ones for mods in plastic carrying cases.

They've stiffened the rules for Li-on batteries in checked luggage.
