Hey guys, I am new here and I was wondering if I could please get some help/advice.

So I purchased a gamma v2 clone off of eBay. (My first rba) I noticed that the plastic piece on the bottom battery screw connector was missing a little chunk out of the side. I didn't think much of it, so I made a coil anyways, and it is reading 0.0 on my innokin vv3 (I don't have an ohms reader).

Now, I just took a screw driver and tried to loosen the screw, because it was clearly wedged in there. I hardly put any pressure, and a piece of the screw broke off!

So I am wondering if there is a replacement I can purchase from a hardware store or any advice. Btw, the box it came in was a blank black box with just a sku number on it. Nothing on the Internet about the sku number either, go figure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Thanks for the response, you don't think there are any hardware stores that just sell the plastic piece & screw on the bottom? I really want to try and take it out.
I can't picture what is broken. Once you get in 5 posts (and the system updates at :25 past the hour) you will be able to post a picture.

seems that during assembly the center post got installed too tight and crushed the insulator thus rendering it with a short....

Hi BigCap,
I don't see where the screw is broken, but maybe there's just not enough res in the pic. I definitely see where the insulator has broken. Yes, you can grab a suitable screw from a hardware store, though you might have trouble finding it in copper (which is used because it's such a great conductor), but that insulator... It's probably Delrin or something similar... You're not going to find anything ready made that will work. If you wanted to put the time and effort in it, I'm sure you could make something yourself, it's pretty easy to work with, but you'd need the appropriate tools... A lathe for one because you'd probably have to turn it down to get it sized right.

The point is... It's a lot of work to go through for something that should have been right when it came out of the box. I would follow Johnny's advice and just send it back. It's just not worth trying to mess with it when it should have been right when you took it out of the box!

One last thing just to make sure of... I seriously would send it back, i'm .... like that... But the truth is, even with that small piece broken off the side, it shouldn't be shorting... It looks like only the lip has broken, which shouldn't make any difference... Are you sure your coil was installed correctly and everything was right with the build?

Last but not least, if you're going to build coils... Get a meter... They are cheap enough... Pick one up at walmart or radio shack or whatever... Doesn't need to be fancy... Any will do... But they can be a huge help... Especially in diagnosing things like this....

For now, remove the coil... put just the head in and see if you're still reading a short...

Yup figures my first rba, any suggestions? I have heard good things about the kayfun /Russian 91 rba's...but there are so many clones of clones of clones it's mind boggling

I LOVE my kayfun... Any of the clones or clones of clones are usually pretty good, but you can't go wrong with the R91... It takes a little while to learn how to wick right, but once you do it'll become a go to... I've been puffing on kayfuns for a long time... I have tons of other tanks, but it's the one I always carry with me... :)

Thanks so much for the extra detailed post! I am just going to return it, it is way too much of a hassle. That screw is really lodged in there... these look really nice for a small rba, but the quality & craftsmanship (aside from the adj. airflow cap) just isn't good at all.

Could you tell me where you purchased yours from, I just would like a dependable tank, thank you!

Most of my tanks and stuff I get off Ebay... Just be careful because there are some crappy sellers out there... Make sure whatever you find has good pictures and looks good, make sure you fully read the description, and pay attention to the "Location" to make sure you aren't waiting a month for something to clear customs... If you find something that looks good, post up a link here and I'm sure any of the members will be glad to take a look and let you know if it looks like a decent buy or not!
