Some flavors and juices do put out a smell and a non smoker has a lot better sense of smell the a smoker for sure. It is possible for others to exhibit these symptons just like people that have a reaction to PG versus VG. My wife complains alot when I vape certain juices and she is still a smoker. Some also could be like a placebo effect that think there seeing the smoke and it must be harmful. Hope this helps

I think it is mostly placebo effect if it seems to bother them all. Many people with supposed sensitivity to certain things have been tested with the same product with no smell to it and do not react. Not to negate that some have true allergies. My wife does sneeze when I vape in the car. The 2000+ chemicals in cigarettes are nothing compared to VG/PG. Just my 2 pesos.

FWIW, Rich has severe asthma and too many allergies to list, and he's vaping three carts of 24 mg a day. (I've also read that Fearless Leader Steve had strong breathing problems too... until he switched to vaping.)

I call melodrama.

Be polite and keep things smooth, but know inside that these people are most probably full of it.

Does your husband have problems breathing if you vape near him while he's sleeping? If not, well...

I'd agree that it's probably their own hype of smoke period.

However the exhale is roughly 1% nicotine. That can cause people who aren't used to it headaches. I would simply advise to respect their wishes rather than create a confrontation over the matter. Don't vape near them, especially in an enclosed area.

No one is going to win in an argument of that nature.

It could be the PG that bothers them or a particular scent. One person I know sneezes from being around it but was so happy I wasn't smoking anymore which I never did around them anyway, that he hasn't asked me to stop. I just try not to vape around him. That being said, I've run into very few people that had any reaction to it, and I think it's pretty odd that you have 3 people around you that it bothers. By any chance to they think "you should just quit"?

Propylene Glycol is used as a solvent in some nebulizer formulations for asthma (as well as other drug delivery).

My first thought wouldn't be appreciated, so I'll keep it to myself (or let someone with more questionable tact blurt it out. ;) ).

I'm amazed it bothers them and cigarette smoke doesn't though.

I would love to hear your first thought.

I haven't smoked inside for over 10 years but the smoke did bother my husband.

I really don't understand my husbands reaction to my vaping he bought me my first kit for Christmas. But I told him that I wasn't going to quit vaping I am off cigs and on 0 nic and that is where I want to stay.:grr:

I vape 0 nic but I do respect their wishes. Just simply confused.

Hmm... at 0 nic there really shouldn't be any problems that would effect anybody else's breathing... But I'm not a doctor.

As somebody earlier suggested, maybe it might be a good idea to vape at your hubby while he's asleep to see if it is something that really bothers him physically, or just psycologically...

Also, if you have a bottle of Glycerin USP, fill a cart with ONLY that (and a little distilled water to thin it out) and see if that bothers him too... That would take the flavors out of the equation. You'll get plenty of vapor with that too, but it'll taste really bland.

My husband is allergic to cigarette smoke. I could never smoke around him or he would start sneezing and coughing. Now that I vape he has said nothing and has had no reaction to it at all. I even vape in the car without the window rolled down.

When I was in the hospital I vaped the entire time and nobody said anything. There was one aide that could see the vapor in the air and told another employee that she could smell smoke. Of course this was all in her mind. Some people see the vapor and assume it smells but IMO it has no smell at all.
