Does the Cherry taste like Cherry? yes it does, I use Totally Wicked's Cherry and that doesnt have a tobacco undertone, and the Cherry tastes like Cherry Pie Filling...fruity with a tang.

I currently have a non PG juice, which is supposedly a Rich tobacco Flavour, and that has a taste of caramel, with a hint of menthol. (Ecopure by Intellicig)

Remember, your taste buds take time to adjust so what you like or dislike now, may change in the not too distant future.

The impression here is that everyone who tries vaping loves it the first time and immediately gives up smoking. Although I know that is true for some, but it is certainly not true for all. I bought my first e cig over a year ago and absolutely hated the taste. I did love the cute light and the vapor. I put it away and continued smoking. Sometimes I would get it out and try again to like it. Over time, I got used to the sweet taste. Then, I tried some different e cigs and flavors. I thought I would like menthol because I smoke Marlboro Smooths. I did not. I thought I would like spearmint. I did not. This January I bought a Janty Dura, and I love it. I love the throat hit, the vapor, and the taste. For me, not putting any pressure at all on myself to quit smoking has worked wonderfully. I still have some regular cigs, just not nearly as many as before (between 2-6 a day vs. a pack a day for 40 years) I smoke/vape what I feel like at the moment, but more often than not, I choose the Dura. My suggestion is to ease into it unless you have serious health issues that are forcing you to quit smoking immediately. Works for me.

sherid, thank you for your post! So many people on this board have said the switch from analog to ecig was easy for them. I have been feeling like a failure.

Nobody should feel like a failure. If you even smoke 1 less analog per day then it is a success...........

When I first started, I was holding the e-cig at too close to the horizontal. Once I tipped it more towards the floor, things got much better.

My body is still getting used to it. I choke on them in the morning, have to smoke analogs during the day at work, but can get into vaping in the evenings. I usually don't have more then two analogs at night for a good six hours or so. Just vapor.

Elendil you are so right !

When I first started, I smoked a couple in the morning and a couple at night, and I did that for weeks before they started to taste yuk and I decided it was time to stop. My Hubby now, has been using an e-cig for a couple of months, but he still enjoys his ciggies, and thats fine, as he is not smoking 30 a day as before.

Every time you vape instead of smoke you have made a giant step forward !!

So pat yourself on the back and tell yourself 'Well Done Me !'

I wash the stuffing on mine, although after a few washes I think I'll need to replace it soon..it just isn't as fluffy as it used to be :)

They're OK to wash for a short time, then they get gross, and burnt tasting. My wife picked up a bag of polyester fiberfill (pillow stuffing) from Walmart. Make sure it's the hypoallergenic stuff. A big bag for 2 bucks. That's a years supply or maybe more. I refilled about 20 carts so far, and you still can't see a dent in the bag. It's amazing how fresh the juice tastes when you change the fiber. The bag is the size of a large pillow, and you know how much a cart takes. I'll let you do the math.

I found that fluval from the pet store works for me as a cart stuffing. When you put new filling in your cart, it's like clean sheets day! LOL
I got my first e-cig..a cigarette looking e-cig with menthol juice..ugh! I almost quit. But a week later My Vapor Store had a 901 at my doorstep and that's all it took plus the RY4 and Butterscotch liquid!
You are not alone, some of us really hated it at first, but then some of us (meaning me) really didn't want to quit smoking. I just wanted Hubby to quit and for me to keep him company, he's still smoking, I am not.
You have to try pear..very good!

Hang in there sunnee! You just need to give it a little time, especially if you are as driven to succeed as your posts sound. It is so much different than smoking an analog. It just takes some time to adjust and get it all sorted out.

Got the Red Dragon first - hated it! Then I got the DSE901 and fell in love with it after about two days of giving it an honest try. Like you, I didn't like that the taste was putrid. I found that getting small sample size bottles of e-liquid helped. I could try out a few without spending a ton of money and decide which worked best for me.

Best of luck and keep us updated on your progress!! :)

I thought mine tasted like a swisher sweet when I first got it- which I didn't hate but did not love- it took me a few days to start to enjoy it. I started to crave the taste. Then I got into flavors and its been all financial devastation since.
)
Hang in there- give it a shot wholeheartedly- and if you hate it, you hate it. It wont be for everyone.

sherid, thank you for your post! So many people on this board have said the switch from analog to ecig was easy for them. I have been feeling like a failure.
Well, it has been easy for me because I have not tried to quit. I have just started preferring the e cig to the real thing. I am not putting up a banner or stating that I have quit smoking. That would be a lie. What I can say is that I have a real cig with morning coffee and then forget about it most of the day. I do not feel stressed when I have more than usual if I happen to be having a drink or two. One of my favorite things about the e cig is that I am not forced to pay for the SCHIP tax with any significant money now that I only buy a couple of packs every ten days.

Thanks Guys! You've all made me feel so much better! It really helps to know that I'm not the only one who didn't fall in love at first puff! I'm so glad I found this forum, not only for all the great information, but mostly for the tremendous support. :D

Maybe I'm starting to get used to the taste or maybe it was the primer in the atty, but it's definitely getting better. And, you're right, I really didn't like analogs when I first started smoking them 35 years ago, that's for sure! 8-o

I wish I could get more vapor going, but hopefully I'll fix that when I get my juice and can top off my carts and/or drip.

Thanks again for all the encouragement! You truly don't know how much I needed it and appreciate it!

I'm a new vaper too and having probs getting into it.
The only things I seem to have found is 1. keep the battery well charged else you can get a mouthful of liquid, 2. ready made carts can be a bit dried out and give a nasty taste so top them up 3. I'm using 18mg with the odd bash of a 24 mg when I need a bit hit of nicotine.
I can't go out without analogues yet, especially for work breaks, worried I won't have my nicotine fix good enough.

I don't like the tobacco flavours either, and they smell foul in the bottle, which really puts me off.
Didn't like apple either.
But do like coca cola :) tastes like cola and tickles the tip of my tongue!

Don't think I could vape sweet things all day so I'm trying less 'sweet' flavours.

I think vapeing is a long learning process - just hopeing I'll get the hang of it.

PS If anyone could give me some advice on what to do with atomisers to clean them would be appreciated, I'm just draining them at the mo - is that enough? Don't want to put chemicals in them cos I have to inhale that later!!

For my atomizers I boil tem in some water for about 5 mins, blow them out, let them dry for at least 24 hours battery side up and I've not lost one yet.

That is really interesting. How long have you been using your atty's and how did you ever think of to boil them first? Can I do this with the Janty KISSBOX atty's and why do you think that boiling them helps?

I should clarify. I am boiling them after I have used them for cleaning purposes. Although I suppose you could do it before using to get rid of the primer taste..........

Speedi-
First off I want to thank you because I had spent about 6 hours on this site tryign to determine what e-cig to get my wife for Mom's day and I came across your post where you mentioned the SS Elite you ordered. Since it seemed like you had gone through the same steps as I had but were farther along I went with the flow, rolled the dice and placed the same order as you. So far so good, as you said delivery was fast and everything seemed to be in order at a good deal.

I am not a smoker and HATE cigs!!! I actually started off the SS Elite before giving it to my wife because I did not want her first experience to be the nasty primer. Honestly, I thought it tasted good, not just decent. I never noticed the primer taste, just sweet tobacco, like analogs smell (but do not taste). She also likes the taste of the tobacco and is an UL Marlboro smoker.

So, I don't think the bad taste you are experiencing has anything to do with primer etc.? As a Psych graduate I know how strongly us humans resist change especially when addiction is involved. Although we are motivated to change we sometimes are not totally comitted and
subconsciously look for ways to sabotage our own efforts. Confirm to yourself that this is a step process and you are not giving anything up. You are simply trying a different design of the same thing (that happens to be healthier). It is like bypassing the Whopper for the Grilled Chicken sandwich, both supply calories but each has different pros/cons.

Good luck!

Thanks Elendil - think I will try that - do you have to wait for a bad taste before you clean or just on a regular basis, and if so how often?
One of mine started to taste foul, I drained it and it seemed okay the next day.
I also bought a couple of spare atomisers, they were absolutely soaking in liquid when I got them, is that primer? I made sure I dried them out - trouble is when newbie you don't really know all the ins and outs of what you're trying to do :(
