elo,

i jus wan to build a 3.7v mod for my echo cartos ....

apparently, running off 18650 , however, i did fried the cartos when i try to connect them up :(

upon some reading now (which i shld had done so early) , the echo cartos are running on 3.4v , thus a 4.2v straight up, fried it ... is it?

so, how much ohms i mus put inbetween of them to make it work ....

thanks in advance ....

---------------------------------------------------------------------

issue resolved .... was a short ,,,, :x

poland, and the brassy lands of google
According to health cabin they should be OK

Echo cartomizer is cone shaped and perpectly compatible with eGo/eGo T batteries 3.7V-6V.

Resistance: 2.4 to 2.7 ohm

If they were old then maybe the higher voltage would be to blame.

Just how is it you have them hooked up? Pics maybe?

Well that's not exactly correct. The "are running on 3.4v" is probably loaded volts, your 18650 is probably running them at 3.6-3.8V loaded. That could maybe make them a little harsh, but it's not that much more to "straight up, fried it".

the setup was a simple , carto to battery to thumbswitch .... :|

i did manage to get some vapour in the first few seconds, however, subsequent activiation .... suddenly, a spark ! and all is dead .... :(

after that, i remove the inside and try to connect again ... = no effect ...

a closer look (with my bad eyesight ), the nichrome wire seems to had fried/blackened ... :(

thus, i realise i had to drop the voltage inorder for the cartos to work ... but has no idea how much ohms is needed to be added .... :(

I would immediately suspect the atty connector.

It is not the easiest to solder the positive and the negative wire, without a short. I would check to make sure the rubber insulartor between the center pin, and the atty connector housing is intact, and not fractured. That can cause an immediate short, but normally your battery will shut down before there is a spark. Next I would suspect the push button you installed, and lastly, the master switch if your mod has one. Make sure non of your solder connections are touching any others.

Man that thing is a beast! Did you get that box on ebay? I have been looking to build a juice feeder, and that may be just the ticket. Looks like that box would make a nice dual 18650 5v mod as well. Does the box close easily and stay closed, or are there set screws?

Glad you got it working.

i got that box from a forum supplier .... here ...

this is the only box that holds 1 or 2 18650s .... on the market [i did research] .... :)

but the box dun close well, upon vapouring i kept accidentally 'open' the cover .... :(
nor has screw holds to fully secure ...

one thing that still bugs me is that, the connector dun seems to remain in its place, it kept turning when i turn ... lols, i may apply some super glue onto it ... :x

infact, i had tried some putty ... but as usual it sticks to itself but not well with the surroundings ... like plastic and alloy atty ...

for this first mod, i think i will jus live with it ... lols .... as long it works, it has already serve its purpose ... :p

i have that metal casing too :D, but i think i got to get some more 510 adapters inorder for it to work without much rotational ...

i think i shall go save some more money to get a silver brazing rod .... to 'braze' the atty to the metal box ... :x hmmmm
